Biography[]
Background[]
The sisters are the daughters of Cinderella's Stepmother, who is married to Cinderella's widowed father. After the death of Cinderella's father, the stepmother and her daughters enslave Cinderella as their servant, forcing her to clean and tidy the house and aid their vanity.
Into the Woods[]
The sisters are seen forcing Cinderella to clean when she wishes to attend the King's Festival. They then force her to do their hair whilst they get ready. The family then leave Cinderella at home and make their way to the festival, and laugh after they splash Jack's mother with mud from their carriage.
When returning one evening from the festival, they are approached by the Baker, who tries to compare their hair to an ear of corn which must be that sort of yellow. Horrified at his peasantry, they beat him away. After Cinderella secretly attends the ball and leaves a pure slipper on the steps to his palace, he conducts a kingdom-wide search to find the owner of the shoe. When he arrives at Cinderella's home, the sisters try to force their feet into the slippers. Resolute on one of them marrying the Prince, their stepmother mutilates parts of their feet to force the shoe to fit, but both are revealed to have cheated and are unsuccessful. After the Prince learns Cinderella is his true bride, the stepsisters and stepmother bow to her and are then blinded by birds for their cruelty.
In their blindness, the stepsisters attend Cinderella's wedding, and are caught in the woods after The Giant attacks. The stepsisters leave and follow their mother, who refuses to fight the giant.
