Lucretia and Batiatus only recently were left to manage the ludus. She is depicted as a little more innocent and less lascivious, the thought of sleeping with a slave or gladiator invited by his childhood friend and guest, Gaia, causes her disgust. Until then there was no other who she is sexually interested beyond Batiatus. Later Gaia entices Lucretia taking opium while high, the two friends share a romantic sexual encounter, this remains without knowledge of Batiatus, though he and the two finally begin to engage in threesome.
Gaia is close to Lucretia, emotionally and physically, acting as best friend and mentor of the villain, being a key to understanding the attitudes of Lucretia's character during the series. She has the option of having sexual relations with someone other than your husband, maybe even a slave. Gaia will delight and manipulates the men around her to have a second marriage, better than the first, and sees men as fun, but still she is honest and caring towards Lucretia and want to help and protect her, but she did not rule out the option of promoting your own objectives. Along the route of the prologue of the series, though many friends and other contacts, Gaia is concerned only with Lucretia, and she puts herself at risk because of it.
Everything changes with the arrival of Quintus Batiatus's father, Titus, who when faced with three naked, show their displeasure with the direction of the life of his only son and a strong dislike for Gaia later. First help her friend and her husband to gain the prestige that aims for your business, when she attracts the noble Varus to the ludus and convinces them to satisfy the sexual desires of that. Soon news of the pleasures that the house of Batiatus offers are counted among the highest social circles. And most men approach Lucretia, wanting to see it with your own eyes.
Unfortunately for both, Tullius, veiled enemy of Batiatus, also decides to attend orgies. Lucretia is disturbed by your presence, so Gaia decides to seduce him to try to find something and once alone he tells her to pass a message to Batiatus. Later, Tullius leaves the ludus and says he left a message. Lucretia then finds her friend dead in the room with the head violently crushed. To hide the crime and not generate a scandal, Titus decides that the body of Gaia should be thrown off the cliff, as if he had left the house while drunk and fell into the abyss. This attitude generates enormous despair since she desires to avenge the death of her friend, but the father-in-law decides that the son should divorce Lucretia, considering it "a snake", if not both will to live on the streets. His inability to produce an heir is the main danger to their marriage thereafter.
To remedy this, Lucretia forces herself to have sex with one of her slaves Crixus, who came from a big family before he was enslaved a child.
Responding to maltreatment of her husband and inertia on the death of Gaia, the treatment given to her corpse, she murders Titus poisoning the wine given to him in full awareness of Batiatus feels love for his father, and he suspected that his enemy Tullius committed murder and undoubtedly would retaliate.
During the slow death of her father-in-law, she confesses that she did not intend to kill him, why put poison in small doses, but the death of his friend asked a final solution.
Finally, Tullius is ambushed, beaten and stabbed in the belly by Batiatus, Gannicus and Oenomaus is concreted alive inside a wall.
Afterwards, Lucretia begins a regular affair with Crixus in order to have a child so her husband will have an heir worthy of his legacy.
Spartacus: Blood and Sand[]
Lucretia has her real character portrayed as the public came to know her; a sensual, enigmatically intelligent, and dangerous woman. With the sale of the prominent gladiaor Spartacus to her husband, Lucretia makes friends with the woman's praetor, Legatus Glaber, Ilithyia. Lucretia meets the Priestess of Juno, convened by Ilithyia to put an end to fertility problems the new friend. It consumes a potion, and how have sexual relations in the hours to get the effect, but Batiatus was on business, she calls Crixus to possess it. However, their plans are insufficient when he asks him to "give up one night of pleasure" in order to remain prepared for his upcoming fight with Theokoles; unknown to Lucretia, he declines due to his growing feelings for Naevia, a slave protected since the accidental death of Melitta.
With Ilithyia's connections, Lucretia soon befriends a wealthy Roman, Licinia, cousin of Marcus Crassus Lucinius, one of the richest men in Rome. Licinia is attracted to Spartacus, and want to have sex with him. Ilithyia immediately deduces the intentions of Licinia, and want to Crixus in bed too. Feeling humiliated Lucretia prepares a devilish exchange with masks as soon Spartacus and Ilithyia have sex, without realizing the identity of each other. She then goes over them with intentionally, Licinia to be beside her, she exposes the truth much to the horror and shame of Ilithyia. Meanwhile, Licinia is delighted at the irony of the case and laughs at her wildly. Anguished, Ilithyia kills Licinia hitting her head on the hard floor repeatedly.
At the end of the season, Lucretia discovers love Crixus and Naevia in response, Lucretia unleashes her jealous fury upon Naevia, violently beating and cursing her for her betrayal. She crudely cuts off Naevia's hair with a blunt knife and sends her away to an unknown location, much to Crixus's dismay and desperation. Plays his final card, she and her husband produce Licinia severed hand, and threaten to expose both Glaber and Ilithyia the murder, if the sponsorship is not granted. Outraged by the murder of his wife, Glaber grants and sponsorship reluctantly.
When gladiators launch an armed rebellion against the ludus, Crixus angrily demands the whereabouts of Naevia. When Lucretia tries to negotiate with him, he stabs her in the abdomen, wounding her and killing the fetus. She staggers where Batiatus is surrounded by all gladiators. When she collapses, her husband rushes to her, but is stopped by Spartacus. Lucretia watches helplessly as the gladiator slices Batiatus' throat, killing him.
Spartacus: Vengeance[]
It is discovered that Lucretia remains alive, dirty, disheveled and (seemingly) crazy after spending six weeks in the ludus. Delirious, Lucretia seems to have no memory of past events. Horrified by his survival, Ilithyia want to have Lucretia, freeing memory and evidence of his murder Licinia. But Glaber, orders his wife to have Lucretia clean and presentable. Glaber wishes to display her to the people as a phenomenal-even prophetic-gift from the gods as it is a miracle she survived the slaughter. Meanwhile, Lucretia soon takes note of Ilithyia's pregnancy and congratulates her.
Ashur; who now resides in the champion's quarters in the ludus. When confronted; by Lucretia as to why he told Glaber about the vial; instead of what he was told. Ashur declares that; he is Glaber's man now and doesn't need to take orders from her. He then; proves his point; by raping Lucretia.
Ashur has continued raping Lucretia several times, as she realizes that; Glaber now trusts him, as he is more powerful than she is in "terms of political influence" and can have Lucretia killed or sent; into slavery. She also cannot tell Glaber about Ashur sexually assaulting her; without the syrian revealing the truth to the praetor; regarding that; Lucretia is nothing; but a fraud; who has been deceiving the latter; into believing that; she is the oracle of the gods, as Ashur has leverage over her, Lucretia is trapped between her lies and is forced to shamefully put up; with Ashur repeatedly raping her.
But Ashur (delusionally) believes that; Lucretia is beginning to develop romantic feelings towards him, turning it; into a twisted love-hate relationship. He even begins calling her "my love" and giving her gifts of the jewels he has stolen from those that; he has killed at Glaber's command. But his new-found "love" for Lucretia is expressed through possessiveness and violence, as he will not hesitate to rape Lucretia; if she ever disrespect or insult him.
Eventually, Ashur gains enough patronage; with Glaber to have Lucretia promise to be his wife and the ludus to be granted to him for his service, something Lucretia will do anything not to see. With help from Ilithyia, they travel to Vesuvius where they concoct a scheme that makes it seem like Ashur betrayed Glaber. It is successful, Lucretia kisses the clueless Ashur goodbye before he is sent on a suicide mission and is killed by Naevia.
Free of him, Lucretia soon finds her chance of taking her revenge on Ilithyia for her role in the deaths of her husband and fall from grace. Once Ilithyia goes into labor, she kills all of Ilithyia's slaves and reveals her intentions to steal the latter's newborn child.
After cutting the baby out, Lucretia goes near the cliff with the baby in her hands just as a near dead Ilithyia follows her and begs her to show mercy to her child. Lucretia replies by saying that her husband always wanted a child and now will have one in death, with that she falls of the cliff with the baby in her hands. Ilithyia witnesses this and she dies moments later from blood loss; since Lucretia brutally forced the child out of her.
Personality[]
Lucretia was extremely conflicted, dishonourable, intelligent, immoral, manipulative, overconfident and selfish.
Despite Lucretia's intelligent and manipulative traits, she was extremely arrogant and egotistical; to the point of underestimating both of her allies and enemies alike; for example, she had believed that; her unwilling lover, Crixus would not try to her kill; due to the fact that; Lucretia was pregnant; with his child at the time; but she had underestimated Crixus' hatred towards her, as he had preferred his child to be dead than ever be raised; by someone like her.
Lucretia was extremely cruel; to the point of being sadistic; for example, she along; with her husband, Quintus Batiatus took pleasure out of murdering or raping their slaves, as she did not see them as individuals; but as possessions to be abused or exploited.
Due to Lucretia's cruel, immoral, sadistic and selfish traits; she had lacked any form of compassion, empathy, morals and sympathy; for example, she had no genuine guilt, shame and remorse for any of her disgusting actions; such as how badly she had treated her slaves.
Lucretia was self-righteous; for example, she feels a deep sense of betrayal; when any of her slaves had disobey her; even; if she had believed that; the betrayal was justified and had expressed her anger through tortures.
Lucretia had became both emotionally and mentally traumatized after almost being killed; by her ex-lover, Crixus, as well as losing her unborn child at the hands of the latter; even more so after being repeatedly raped; by her former slave, Ashur; who had forced Lucretia to become his slave and unwilling lover.
Due to being repeatedly raped; by Ashur; Lucretia was slowly losing her sanity and the will to live; for example, she had believed that; she was the oracle of the gods; but in truth; she was not.
But after being raped; by Ashur in the episode, "Monsters" (off-screen) for the final time, Lucretia had lost any sanity that; she had left inside of her; to the point that; she now had believed that; Ilithyia was the vessel carrying hers and Quintus' child; but in truth; the child was actually Spartacus and Ilithyia's; proving just how delusional and mentally unstable Lucretia had truly become.
Lucretia was an extremely self-righteous-hypocrite; for example, after becoming the slave and unwilling lover of Ashur, she had despised him for raping her and treating her as a possession; completely disregard the fact that; she had treated several of her other slaves in a similar manner; when Lucretia was still the domina of the House of Batiatus at the time; before it's massacre at the hands of Spartacus and his rebels.
Lucretia had lacked any redeeming qualities; for example; even after experiencing the same cruelty she had once inflicted on her own slaves, Lucretia still did not reform at all; even after becoming the slave and unwilling lover of Ashur, as well as enduring him repeatedly raping her, she had remained completely unchanged at all.
Physical appearance[]
Lucretia was a young beautiful woman; with blue eyes and an imposing size almost always having a flawless appearance. Her natural hair is cut short; but she always wore a long, curly wigs of brown, blonde or red colors; but she had preferred to wore red coloured wigs more than the others.
In both Spartacus: Gods of the Arena and Spartacus: Blood and Sand respectively, Lucretia wore dresses that; were extremely revealing.
In Spartacus: Vengeance, following the massacre of the House of Batiatus; Lucretia had changed her appearance, as she wore wigs of dark brown or black colors and far less revealing dresses.
But after becoming the slave and unwilling lover of Ashur; Lucretia now both reluctantly and shamefully wore wigs of light red colors as a symbol that; she belongs to him.
At the end of the episode, "Sacramentum", Lucretia was completely barefooted and wore a black wig; but after the events of that; said episode, she wore a light red wig again.
Abilities[]
- High-level intellect: Lucretia was a highly intelligent individual.
- Master of manipulator: Lucretia was highly skilled in the art of manipulation.
- Master of seductress: Lucretia was highly skilled in the art of seduction, as she had used her beauty and charm as weapons; allowing her to seduce most other men; for example, she was not only able to seduce Albinius; into having sex; with her; but she also had successfully convinced him to dissolve Ilithyia's marriage to Gaius Glaber in favor of marrying Publius Varinius. But Ashur and Crixus were the only known men; who never fall for Lucretia's beauty and charm.
Weaknesses[]
- Arrogance: Despite Lucretia's intelligence; she had massive ego; to the point of underestimating both of her allies and enemies alike; for example, she had believed that; Crixus would not try to her kill; due to the fact that; Lucretia was pregnant; with his child at the time; but she had underestimated Crixus' hatred towards her, as he had preferred his child to be dead than ever be raised; by someone like her. Lucretia's arrogance and egotistic traits also had prevented her from truly learning from any of her mistakes; even after Crixus had turned against Lucretia; due to what she did to his lover, Naevia, although Lucretia was grateful towards Ashur for saving her life; but she still had treated him very badly for no clear reason at all; with little to no respect at all; which had ultimately; proved to be her downfall. Initially, Ashur was still loyal towards Lucretia; despite the fact that; she had treated him very badly for no clear reason at all; with little to no respect at all; but once Ashur had realized that; Lucretia did not truly see him as her equal or partner-in-crime; but as an expendable pawn, he had turned against the latter, as Ashur had started to rape Lucretia, and forced her to become his slave and unwilling lover; ultimately maintaining dominance over Lucretia.
- Limited intellect: Although Lucretia was incredibly intelligent, she did have her limits; for example, she was unable to match Ashur, Quintus Batiatus and Spartacus respectively in "terms of intellect".
- Mental instability: Due to being repeatedly raped; by Ashur; Lucretia slowly become more arrogant, cruel, erratic, delusional and unstable; for example, she had believed that; she was the oracle of the gods; but in truth, she was not. After being raped; by Ashur in the episode, "Monsters" (off-screen) for the final time, Lucretia's mental stability had further deteriorated; to the point that; she now had believed that; Ilithyia was the vessel carrying hers and Quintus' child; but in truth, the child was actually Spartacus and Ilithyia's; proving just how delusional and mentally unstable Lucretia had truly become, as well as the fact that; Lucretia had lost any sanity that; she had left inside of her.
