Do you guys really think that you're actually going to hurt me; Ludmila, with you're negative energy. No, I'll take it all in and transform it into light because I am a "SUPERNOVA!".

~ Ludmila before Violetta is supposed to leave the Studio.
At the start of Season 1, Ludmila was the queen of Studio 21, she was the most talented girl there and her boyfriend was Leon, who is considered the best-looking boy and the best male singer at the Studio, but then, a girl named Violetta Castillo came and took her crown. Ludmila hates Violetta for several reasons, one, she's more talented than her, two, she's nicer than her, three, she's more popular than her, and finally four, Ludmila's love interest, Tomás Heredia, is in love with Violetta.
In Season 2, Ludmila's childhood friend Diego comes to the Studio. They make a plan together to make Violetta leave the Studio. Diego is going to try and make Violetta fall in love with him and then he'll break up with her and break her heart. However, the plan doesn't work as Violetta finds out and breaks up with Diego. Halfway through Season 2, Federico returns to the Studio and he and Ludmila grow closer, and eventually they fall in love with each other.
Whenever Federico is close to her, Ludmila turns into a better person, a nicer, kinder one.

Other peoples' sadness doesn't make me happy. At least I've got that. But like you usually do, you won't care about any of this.

~ Diego about Ludmila's evil nature.
Being brought up in a wealthy family Ludmila has become very spoiled and pampered. She is the most beautiful, cool, popular and mean girl at Studio On Beat (formerly Studio 21). She is self-centered, egotistical, a sickeningly obnoxious and nearly delusional person. Believing that the world revolves around her and that she is a better singer/dancer than everyone else, even calling herself a "Supernova". She is actually a very talented girl, but her conceited attitude makes her believe she's already a "superstar" and doesn't need to work hard or train to become better. While being intelligent, confident and ambitious is a good thing, Ludmila takes those positive traits to a dark extreme. Becoming ruthless in her pursuit of being the centre of attention.
Ludmila is cruel, cold-hearted and treats people horribly. She loves plotting and planning evil schemes to destroy and hurt people she doesn't like. Through lies and manipulation her plans usually succeeds, albeit only for a little while. Her best friend is Natalia "Naty" Vidal, but she is often more like a slave to Ludmila than her friend. Naty is very scared of Ludmila because she knows the things Ludmila is capable of, and what she does to people that are on her bad side. Ludmila makes Naty feel like she's useless, stupid and a worthless singer and dancer.
Yet Naty still stays loyal to her friend because she actually, despite all of Ludmila's nasty behaviour, truly lovers her as friend. Ludmila has shown signs of actually caring about and valuing Naty as her best friend, although her shallow and superficial demeanor hides that. Ludmila is a girl who's full of inner rage and lashes out (most often against Naty) about the smallest things. She is extremely jealous of Violetta. She loathes her due to the fact that Violetta is more talented and popular than her, and that Tomas is in love with Violetta. Ludmila feels as though Violetta came and stole her entire life at the Studio and that's why she tries to destroy her by any means necessary.
In the later half of Season 2 she falls in love with Federico. Even though she doesn't like it at first, she can't help herself with falling for him and becoming a nicer person whenever he's around.
In Season 3 she later says that Federico showed her the best version of herself and tries to change from her evil old self into a better and kinder person. In the end she redeems herself, apologizes to Violetta and everyone else and becomes a kind, sweet person. Although little bits of her self-righteousness and show-offy behaviour is still left.

She is very similar to another live-action Disney Channel telenovela villain, namely Ámbar Smith from Soy Luna. As both appear as the 'mean girl' trope and main antagonist of their respective series. Both are shallow, arrogant, mean, obnoxious, cruel and loathes the main female protagonist (Violetta for Ludmila, Luna for Ámbar) above all else. Both Ludmila and Ámbar have sidekicks (Natalia "Naty" for Ludmila, Jazmin and Delfina "Delfi" for Ámbar) that carries out their wicked schemes and feel as though they are nothing without them. They also share similarities in that they both get a redemption arc in the third season of their respective series, as well as initially getting one in the first season only to completely regress to their evil ways at the beginning of the second season.
