The Luftwaffe are supporting antagonists in the Call of Duty franchise, being the aerial warfare branch of the German Military during the Second World War. The Luftwaffe appear as major antagonists in the World War II era of the series, they fight against the Allied Powers.
Biography[]
Call of Duty[]
The Luftwaffe make an appearance in Call of Duty, with Lutfwaffe paratroopers appearing frequently in the game. the British campaign, with the British soldiers having to destroy incoming "Stuka" dive-bombers in "Airfield Escape". After the British destroyed three waves of bombers, a Focke-Wulf 200 "Condor" arrives and the player will be driven toward the "Condor".
Finest Hour[]
Heinkel 111s can be seen in the distance bombing the city, and a Russia T-34 tank group led by Nikolai Badanov attack a Luftwaffe base. In the British campaign, Stukas can be seen attacking the player while escaping on a jeep, and during the American campaign, Messerschmitt Bf 190 fighters can be seen overhead in Remagen.
Call of Duty 2[]
Stuka dive bombers appear in the British North African levels, and often harass British forces in missions. The Luftwaffe can also be seen occasionally dogfighting British Spitfires, and the player later uses a German Flakvierling 38 to destroy waves of Stukas.
Big Red One[]
The Luftwaffe appear in "We've Been Through Worse", where Stukas are attempting to destroy American forces, but mobile American AA emplacements have been set up to attack the planes. In "Liberators", the player man's various gun positions aboard a B-24 Liberator and shoot down numerous Luftwaffe aircraft. The player later enters a M3A1 Half-track, manning a browning machine gun to eliminate the German planes.
Call of Duty 3[]
The Luftwaffe are minor antagonists in Call of Duty 3, with paratroopers being encountered in the American campaign.
World at War[]
In the mission "Vendetta", Focke-Wulf 200 Condors are seen flying overhead, and Dimitri Petrenko uses the roar of the engines to hide his sniper shots. Paratroopers were meant to be in the campaign, but were scrapped, but their models are still in files. In the multiplayer, when playing War on "Downfall", one of the objective sis the "Luftwaffe Headquarters".
Call of Duty: WWII[]
The Luftwaffe are antagonists in Call of Duty: WWII, appearing the missions "Operation Cobra", "Battle of the Bulge", "Ambush", and "The Rhine". Junkers Ju 87s dive bombers appear in said missions, and the player takes control of Matthew Weber to shoot down Stukas with the P-47 Thunderbolt. Private Ronald "Red" Daniels is also ordered to take out Stukas with Flak 38 AA guns, and later aids the 1st Infantry Division in ambushing a Luftwaffe base in the Ardennes.
