Biography[]
Past[]
Little is known about Lukas Matsson's past, other than he was born and raised in Sweden before founding a successful tech company. He further bolstered his company's success by inflating its overseas subscriber numbers, a form of fraud that he eventually becomes paranoid about. At some point, he began a relationship with one of his employees, Ebba. However, the relationship fell apart due to Matsson's childish and abusive tendencies, and he began stalking her, sending her entire pints of his own blood as an inside "joke" between them, much to her discomfort.
Season 3[]
Matsson is first seen attending Kendall Roy's birthday party, where he sits alone on a couch and plays on his phone. Kendall tries to persuade Matsson to help him acquire Waystar-RoyCo in an attempt to overthrow his father, Logan Roy. Kendall's siblings, Roman and Siobhan "Shiv" Roy, attempt to convince Matsson to merge with Waystar under their father's orders. Matsson seemingly takes a liking to Roman to due to their similarly childish personalities, and agrees to discuss the merger deal.
Matsson eventually sets up a meeting with Roman, where he asks him how long until Logan inevitably dies and proposes the idea of buying all of Waystar outright, much to Roman's dismay. When meeting with Matsson himself, Logan, viewing his children as irresponsible and not wanting to surrender his company to them out of pride, decides to sell Waystar behind their backs, paving the way for Matsson to take over.
