Biography[]
"Solving for the Unknowns"[]
Mitchell preys on women he meets on dating apps. He takes them out to bars where his friend, bartender Ash Gordon, is working, and Gordon drugs their drinks with homebrewed designer drugs that put the women in a trance-like state. Mitchell then takes the women back to his apartment, rapes them, and leaves them with no memory of what he did to them.
When one of Mitchell's victims is arrested for driving under the influence, she says that she was drugged and date-raped, and identifies him as her rapist. The Special Victims Unit detectives arrest him, and find several other women whom he raped, even as he hypocritically claims to be a "nice guy" who supports women's rights. They then learn that Gordon worked the bars in which Mitchell drugged his victims, and suspect that Gordon is his accomplice.
SVU Captain Olivia Benson holds a press conference about Mitchell's rapes to encourage other victims to come forward. Sure enough, several other women contact SVU and disclose that Mitchell raped them, including one woman who sustained permanent brain damage from the drugs Mitchell and Gordon gave her.
Mitchell agrees to set Gordon up in return for a reduced prison sentence, and meets with Gordon while wearing a wire. The detectives arrest Gordon, who confesses to drugging Mitchell's dates and recording the rapes so he could watch them later. Mitchell is sentenced to ten years in prison, and Gordon to two.
