Lumionous Valentine is a major character in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series. She is a Demon Lord, the fifth seat of the Octagram, and the true ruler of Holy Empire of Lubelius. She is the ruler of all the vampires and one of the oldest Demon Lords.
She is voiced by Lynn in Japanese and Jill Harris in English
Appearance[]
Luminous appears to be a girl of fifteen or sixteen, radiating an imperfect yet captivating beauty, as if frozen in the fleeting moment of transitioning from childhood to adulthood. Her heterochromatic eyes shine with striking hues—one a deep crimson, the other a pale sky blue. Her pure white fangs add an otherworldly charm to her appearance. Often dressed in elaborate gothic attire, she also seems to have a fondness for wearing maid outfits.
Personality[]
Luminous is a typically haughty figure who revels in her perceived superiority, whether seated upon her throne or fulfilling her role as a ruler. Yet, she has no qualms about disguising herself as a maid when it suits her need to conceal her true identity.
She has a refined taste for elegant cuisine and entertainment, to the point where, after witnessing the concert at Tempest's opening festival, she requested a musical exchange to indulge her appreciation for the arts.
Synopsis[]
The Octagram Soars Arc[]
She attended Walpurgis disguised as a maid, but Rimuru immediately sensed something unusual about her upon her arrival. After Rimuru defeated Clayman, Veldora and Milim inadvertently revealed her true identity. Roy, harboring doubts about Rimuru's ascension to demon lord, prompted Luminous to discard her disguise entirely.
Following this, she commanded Roy to return to the Holy Empire, as a spy had infiltrated his territory. Later, she shot an irritated glare at Veldora for carelessly exposing her secret.
In the end, Luminous joined the newly formed group, Octagram, and promptly departed the meeting once it concluded.
Conflict Between Saints and Monsters Arc[]
Upon her return, Luminous is enraged to learn from Louis and Hinata that Roy has been killed. She sternly warns them not to challenge Veldora or Rimuru, acknowledging their overwhelming strength. Furthermore, she makes it clear that she does not perceive Rimuru or his nation as threats, having realized that Rimuru is not malevolent. However, unbeknownst to her, the Seven Luminaries were scheming behind her back, still fixated on destroying the monster nation by manipulating Hinata and the Ten Great Saints.
While Luminous reflects upon the Holy Ark, Louis and Gunther inform her that Hinata, the Saints, and the Luminaries have launched an attack on Tempest. Resolving to intervene, she sets off immediately. Upon arriving, she reveals herself to the three Luminaries and the Saints. After healing Hinata, she executes the Luminaries for defying her orders to avoid conflict with Rimuru's territory and for their attempt to assassinate Hinata.
Later, when she heads to Tempest, she crosses paths with Veldora, who carelessly reveals her identity in front of the Saints. Infuriated, Luminous lashes out at Veldora and even attempts to kill him in a fit of anger.
Territory Seizure Arc[]
Luminous ultimately makes peace with Rimuru and his nation, though she remains cautious and has no intention of fostering an overly friendly relationship with them.
