Death is preferable to the agony of life
~ Luna

Luna is the villainous main protagonist of the 2011 video game Mighty Milky Way by WayForward Technologies. She is a sadistic alien who seeks to destroy Earth to spite her former lover the T-Rex.

Biography[]

In the past, Luna was the T-Rex's beloved girlfriend, and they would spend many moments together at places like the park and the movies, Luna even kissing him on the cheek whenever he went to go to work. Unfortunately, the two seemingly had a falling out at some point, as Luna can be seen impatiently waiting for the T-Rex to arrive for their date. Luna was possibly angered and began to seek revenge against the T-Rex by destroying his home, Earth.

To this end, Luna puts on the facade of a bubbly French girl to trick the player into helping her with her goal, cheerfully speaking sadistic and nihilistic-sounding messages in French. Throughout her journey, Luna destroys dozens of planets with her staff to use the explosions to blast herself closer towards the vortex to the next level, sending any opposing aliens on said planets flying towards their demise, and uses the candy she collects to create more planets to destroy. At the end of each world, the T-Rex will chase Luna and fire lasers at the planets she's on in an attempt to stop her from reaching the vortex that will get her closer to Earth.

Mighty Milky Way Ending

The ending, revealing Luna's ultimate goal of destroying Earth

In the final level, Luna jumps across the various moon-like planets, and successfully reaches Earth, which she then proceeds to destroy, thus bringing the T-Rex into complete distress over the destruction of his home. As she's destroyed Earth, Luna holds a sadistic grin while her eyes glow red, and the text revealing this to be her ultimate goal all along, to which the player shows full remorse for assisting her in the planet's destruction.

Personality[]

Luna puts on a friendly facade, but is really a nihilistic sadist who cheerfully says disturbing messages in French throughout the game, and intends on destroying Earth out of petty spite towards her former lover the T-Rex for seemingly breaking up with her, not caring for the billions of lives she has ended through her wrathful vengeance. While she initially loved the T-Rex as her partner, her prior feelings for him are all but gone, now replaced with rage and contempt as she plans on destroying his home planet.
