Mark Amberzini, better known by his alias Lux St. Seguin, is the main antagonist of the 2020 independent drama film Tape. He is a successful film producer who would pressure aspiring actresses into having sex with him using the classic excuse that he is trying to "help their career".

He was portrayed by Tarek Bishara.

Biography

Lux St. Seguin is a producer who has manipulated several actresses into having sex with him in the past. He would take them into a set in the basement of a studio and make them rehearse a scene from a drama film before slowly pressuring them into sleeping with him. Afterwards, instead of improving their career like he promised, he would instead upload footage of them having sex onto pornographic sites.

After he sexually assaulted Rosa (one of his latest victims), she hatches a plan to film his nefarious activities and expose them to the public. A group of women (including Pearl, one of the main protagonists of the film) audition for a project that he is currently working on. Only four of them are accepted while Pearl's audition is unsuccessful. Lux uses this as an opportunity to make her his next victim. He befriends Pearl and promises to manage her career (just like how he did with all of his previous victims). He gives her a script to use for a screen test, and the two agree to meet in a set in the basement of a building.

Rosa bugs the place, and she watches as Pearl and Lux enter the set and begin practicing the scene. The rehearsal starts casually but gradually grows more and more uncomfortable when Lux starts to pressure Pearl into kissing him and stripping herself. He then finally orders her to have sex with him, and when she tries to refuse, he spends the next several hours harassing her and forcing her to rethink her decision, convincing her that refusing to do so could cost her her career. She finally gives in, and the two have sex while Lux films themselves doing so.

Later, when the two try to relax at a coffee shop, Rosa, having just delivered footage of Lux's activities to a news reporter, comes in and confronts Lux, threatening to shoot him. She reveals to Pearl that Lux is only going to post the sex footage onto a pornographic site rather than actually launch her career as an actress. Pearl is at first in denial, but she finally becomes convinced by what Rosa is saying and commands her to shoot him. Unfortunately, she is unable to bring herself to do it. Lux mocks her and leaves the coffee shop, and it is unknown whether he faces justice for his crimes or not.
