Joseph "Lyle" Menéndez, also known by his middle name, Lyle is the titular main protagonist of the 2024 Netflix biographical crime thriller Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, the second season in the anthology series, Monster.

He is the oldest son of Mary Louise "Kitty" Menéndez and José Menéndez, older brother of Erik Menéndez, oldest nephew of Marta Cano, Carlos Baralt, Peter Cano, Brian Andersen, oldest cousin of Andy Cano, oldest grandson of Maria Menéndez and the boyfriend of Jamie Pisarcik.

He was portrayed by Nicholas Alexander Chavez, who also portrayed Charlie Mayhew in Grotesquerie.

Biography[]

Childhood[]

Jospeh "Lyle" Menéndez was born January 10, 1968 Beverly Hills California, to José Menéndez and Mary Louise "Kitty" Menéndez. Throughout his childhood his Father would sexual abuse him telling him not to tell Kitty about what he did eventually in 1970 his mother gave birth to a younger child who she and José Erik Galen Menéndez eventually due to what his father did Lyle sexually abused Erik.

1970s to early 1980[]

In late 1974 to early 1975 when his family were over, he told his cousin about what José did to him concerned she went to Kitty and told her what Lyle told her not sure if Lyle was making it up or something else.

1980s[]

Around the 1980s he and Erik late at night drove to a house and broke into the house with the owners not in the two brothers began to takes stuff eventually the police caught them and called José who managed to bail the brothers out after that incident him and Erik became patients to therapist Dr. Oziel with Lyle visiting him only being unable to tell Oziel about what José did to him due to José attending it alongside Erik.

1987[]

In 1987 He was enrolled at Princeton University. Eventually he met and started dating Jamie Pisarcik He would be expelled from Princeton University for plagiarism.

1989[]

in 1989 after an argument with his family Lyle finds out the truth about what José did to Erik eventually Lyle confronts José about this threatening him if he ever touches Erik again, A couple of months later Lyle and Erik found out they were being written out the will. On August 20 he and Erik buy shotguns and return to the mansion once they do, they enter the living room and shot Kitty and José after murdering them they drive to a quiet area and bury the shotguns and go to the theatre to have an alibi.
