MAiDeNVøYaGE are major antagonists in the online webcomic/manga Calendar of Vengeance. It is part of Calendrier and led by Number 5, and made up of eight of her most loyal students.
History[]
Background[]
As a child, Number 5 had an intense phobia of germs and filth. The Manager noticed this after 5 joined Calendrier as a trainee, and exploited her phobia into something darker. It is unknown exactly how he did it, but he managed to make 5's germaphobia worse, and even managed to mutate it. Now, Number 5's fear of "filth" was warped into a disgust for filthy people, and it was the Manager that influenced what people Number 5 views as "filthy". This allowed the Manager to manipulate Number 5 into creating MAiDeNVøYaGE, and experimental assassination group that would take out "dirty" people (usually rival business owners or corporate executives), while also keeping 5 in check by continuing to worsen the literal side of her germaphobia.
It is unknown exactly how these eight members of Calendrier were selected for 5's organization, but it is likely that the Manager hand-picked them based on 5's personality.
At an unknown period of time before the events of the story, Number 31 was introduced to Number 5, but neglected to wash her hands before doing so, which put 5 into a mortified state of distress, as she had been "dirtied" by a contaminant. This disgust of 31 continued to dwell in the back of 5's brain, and she would eventually be given an opportunity to act on this disgust when she was approached by Number 11, the idol leader of Calendrier.
Number 11's Deal[]
As 5 had been groomed to follow orders, despite her hatred of Number 31, she couldn't act on this without approval. Knowing this, Number 11 approached 5 and offered her a deal. As the idol leader of Calendrier, she had almost as much authority as the Manager, which gave 11 authorization to approve of a hit on 31. As 11 wanted to torment 31, 11 gave 5 permission to attack and kill 31. Number 5 would then call in her eight MAiDeNVøYaGE agents, and told them to get ready to hunt.
