Ma'alefa'ak: My name's not M'comm. It's Ma'alefa'ak.
Miss Martian: Even... Even if you can't forgive me, it's not too late to reconcile with our family.
Ma'alefa'ak: What family? Our siblings? Please. As for our parents, you can say goodbye to Mom and tell Dad I'm sorry.
~ Ma'alefa'ak to his sister, Miss Martian.
Only a fool charges into battle blind, and the Ma'alefa'ak is no fool.
~ Ma'alefa'ak demanding Lor-Zod tell him his plan.

M'comm M'orzz, better known as Ma'alefa'ak, is a supporting antagonist in Young Justice, serving as a minor antagonist in Season 3: Outsiders and one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Ursa) of Season 4: Phantoms.

He is a white martian extremist and the younger brother of Miss Martian. He is also an ally of Darkseid and Lor-Zod.

He is voiced by Benjamin Diskin who also voiced Harm and in the same show, both Eddie Brock and Venom in The Spectacular Spider-Man, Morbius in Ultimate Spider-Man, The Leader in Marvel Future Avengers, Rhino in Marvel Heroes, Diaz Arnesto in The Prodigies, Skeptic in My Hero Academia, both Abirama Redder and Szayel Aporro Granz in Bleach and Skeletor in He-Man and the Masters of Universe.

Personality[]

But a war isn't won on defense. It's won by giving rein to our righteous anger.
~ Ma'alefa'ak.

Ma'alefa'ak is a cold-hearted individual who would go to great lengths to get what he wants, due to the harsh treatment he received from his fellow Red and Green Martians, including his siblings. He swore he would avenge all the White Martians by killing the others.

When Miss Martian left Mars to join The Team, Ma'alefa'ak felt abandoned and betrayed because his sister left him in Mars to deal with all the Green Martians that look down on him. When she returned however, Ma'alefa'ak was already a changed Martian and is no longer the brother she once knew.

Ma'alefa'ak refused to reconcile with his sister and carried out his plan to kill all the Green, Red and Yellow Martians, leaving only the White Martians. Despite his apparent contempt for his own family, Ma'alefa'ak nonetheless seems to not hate his father as much as the others.

Ma'alefa'ak is also very sadistic, seen as when he was grateful to Lor-Zod when he discovers that it was he who killed Superboy. He felt joy knowing his sister has finally felt the pain he has felt over the years on Mars, claiming that he is glad his sister's happy ending is destroyed.

Appearance[]

Ma'alefa'ak is a male White Martian on Mars, he has golden eyes and has a red x like pattern on his chest. He is the same height as his sister Miss Martian.

Biography[]

Ever since he was young, he and his sister Miss Martian were always being bullied and looked down by the other Martians, including their siblings for being white. While his sister prefers to just scare them to get the to leave them alone, M'comm kills them to teach them a lesson.

Years later, the Team warded off the monstrous meta-humans, Megan and Ma'alefa'ak began telepathically clashing. In the mental world, Ma'alefa'ak mocks her sister's human appearance and then attacks her with a mental ray but Megan dodges easily and although she is stronger she doesn't want to hurt him. Megan then tries to reason with him with a childhood memory of when they were much closer than they are today. Ma'alefa'ak claims to remember better this time when the G'arrunn martyred them despite his sister who protected him. Ma'alefa'ak states at the time that one does not win the war by defense before transforming into a real Ma'alefa'ak and after brutally mutilating the green Martian of their memory, he claims that you just have to let anger and hatred speak. In a final attempt, Megan mirrors what she has gained on Earth and Ma'alefa'ak initially seems to calm down, only to attempt another sneak attack but fails, leaving Megan to realize that her brother is lost. Ma'alefa'ak is suddenly swallowed up by the illusions of his sister's friends.

Back in the physical world, Ma'alefa'ak collapses to his knees. He then proceeds to cause the deaths of the two meta-humans with a suicide code. His two minions dead, Ma'alefa'ak turns hostile to Forager, knowing that he was the one who interfered in his plans by bringing the Team to New Genesis and swears that he will crush the Red Bug if he sees him again, before fleeing.

One year later, when Miss Martian returned to Mars for her wedding with Superboy, Ma'alefa'ak has rallied many White Martians to his cause and intends to strike a decisive blow in this time of mourning for the Red Martian King, S'turnn J'axx. He infiltrates the comms center as an intangible, but Megan spots him anyway and immobilizes him long enough for the Manhunters to overpower him moments before the satellite and Zeta-Tub explode. His capture clearing him of these events, Ma'alefa'ak is taken to a cell.

Megan and her parents come to see an incarcerated M'comm but he rejects their attempt to make him listen to reason. After Megan asks their parent to leave her alone, Ma'alefa'ak finally confronts her for leaving him behind on Mars when she went to Earth. He then demands to be released since he is not responsible for the destruction of the satellite.

Freed, Ma'alefa'ak is visited by Desaad who gives him a bomb containing a virus that will kill all but the White Martians. Desaad notes that since Ma'alefa'ak is actually a half-breed, he will likely fall victim to the bomb as well, but the young white Martian does not care about dying if it means achieving his goal.

Finally taking action, M'comm sets up the bomb beneath the throne room. Back at his lair, his sister appears behind him. Megan reveals she has not forgiven him for the murder of the two meta-humans on New Genesis but still wants to try to reconcile with her brother, still calling him M'comm. Ma'alefa'ak once again dismisses his old name in a way that is hostile enough for Megan to realize that her brother still hasn't forgiven her for leaving him on Mars. Yet she believes it's not too late to reconcile with their family, which Ma'alefa'ak scoffs at. A discouraged Megan leaves, her brother sarcastically wishing her luck with her marriage. His plan was however foiled by Superboy who managed to fry the virus by dropping it and himself down into a lava flow.

Following the failure of his plan, Ma'alefa'ak reassures his followers that the other martians will now live in fear until their reign begins. Suddenly, an enraged Megan bursts into the cave, furiously demanding why Ma'alefa'ak did this. He becomes dismayed when learning that his sister's rage is only due to Superboy's apparent death which she believes him to be responsible for. With the White Martians crushed, Ma'alefa'ak is easily tackled to the wall by his sister but he arrogantly continues to deny knowing what kryptonite is. Megan calls him a liar and bullies him further until Ma'alefa'ak swears in pain that he's not lying. Reading his mind, Megan realizes he was telling the truth and releases him in sadness. Ma'alefa'ak then uses a Fatherbox to open a Boom-Tube to escape.

M'comm however didn't give up and went on to team up with Lor-Zod under Darkseid's orders. Their goal is to steal the Phantom Zone Projector from Metron so they can free Lor-Zod's parents from the Phantom Zone, this plan was also foiled by the Justice League and M'comm was forced to flee along with Lor-Zod. In their escape, the duo capture Saturn Girl, Chameleon Boy, and Kid Flash in the Bio-Ship to stealthily escape New Genesis.

About a month later, Ma'alefa'ak uses his shapeshifting power to trick the security of the Legionnaire Rings and learn from a Phantom Girl unaware of her true identity that the heroes are going to open a portal to the Phantom Zone on Trombus. There, he stealthily moves to the Kaizer-Thrall and seemly destroys Danny Chase’s consciousness, reactivating it and immobilizing the heroes with the fractalizing beams. He then watches as Lor finally met his parents.

Ma'alefa'ak joins the Zod family on Earth when Dru-Zod pronounces his dominion over the human species. As the Team and other heroes arrive, Ma'alefa'ak attacks Chameleon Boy, both of them taking on the appearance of the beast Ma'alefa'ak. Meanwhile, the White Martian telepathically tries to take control of Danny again. Saturn Girl confronts him but proves to be a distraction for Phantom Girl to mentally weaken Ma'alefa'ak by making him intangible, allowing Danny to drive him out of his mind. M'comm refuses to admit defeat and charges, only for a fractural ray to push him down the boomtube towards the Phantom Zone. In a split second, Megan sternly confronts her brother telepathically for his enjoyment of Superboy's death, showing that she no longer has any empathy for him before abandoning him to his fate.

Sometime later, Ma'alefa'ak is rescued by Vandal Savage aboard the Warworld moved to the Phantom Zone by Klarion's magic and returned to Darkseid. Despite Lor's failure, the Lord of Apokalips considered that Ma'alefa'ak had done his part and offered him the planet Durla as a world where the white martians could live among themselves, like Ma'alefa'ak had always wanted.
