Ma'tol is a minor villain in the universe of the SCP Foundation. He is the first of the Old Gods and the brother and deadly enemy of Xiolt-la.

Biography

Ma'tol was the firstborn of Chaos and the Void, and the most powerful of the Old Gods. Along with his brothers and sisters, he created life for the sole purpose of tormenting the living for his own amusement. However, Ma'tol was a jealous god, and sought to gain the prizes of his siblings, so created various malign beings to war with the other Gods. As Ma'tol and his fellow Gods could only be truly destroyed if they were completely forgotten, they were never harmed, instead having each other's armies fight and destroy many innocent worlds in the process.

However, one of the gods, Xiolt-la, refused to destroy life as he loved that they served him, confusing and enraging his fellow gods. Ma'tol, as the Firstborn, lead the others to fight Xiolt-la. Their war raged for centuries, and many of Ma'tol's armies abandoned him, until Xiolt-la finally challenged his brother to Roh'i Xifalk - single combat of the gods. Ma'tol and Xiolt-la duelled for ten thousand years, but eventually Xiolt-la struck Ma'tol a fatal blow. As Ma'tol's form expired, he used the remnants of his fading power to seal away Xiolt-la before passing on into oblivion.
