Ma and Pa Sheenko are major antagonists in Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! Despite seemingly being background citizens living in Sugazoom City cheering the Hyperforce along the way, they in fact worked behind the scenes against them serving as cult leaders of the Skeletal Circle, serving the Skeleton King. After the Skeleton King's death, they led the search for his skull so they could take over his position and picked up where he left off on his quest to rain corruption and destruction all across the universe.
Biography[]
Prior to the events of the series, Ma and Pa Sheenko led a cult under the Skeleton King where they worshipped him along with the other cult members.
Ma and Pa Sheenko first appeared in the series in in Pit of Doom where Ma explained to Chiro about their predicament of Elevator Monster sending them to an unknown location and forcing the civilians to dig a hole that never ends. As Chiro tried to put an end to their enslavement, TV Monster immediately incapacitates him with a beam as the Skeleton King forces them and the others to dig the pit deeper.
They returned in Shadow Over Shugazoom where upon gazing at one of Skeleton King's monsters, they became zombie-like and began attempting to infect the others. The outbreak spread turning nearly the entire city including the Hyperforce themselves into mindless hostile beings.
They are seen in Wonder Fun Meat World attacking the Cloggy Colon Creature by throwing healthy vegetables at him along with the other citizens after being threatened to be fed to him. As a result, he is defeated as Pa Sheenko is seen staring at his defeated self with the citizens cheering as the Super Robot throws Cloggy Colon Creature out of the atmosphere.
Their major villainous roles were revealed in the episode Secret Society. Chiro and the Hyperforce were playing with their arcade machines as the Sheenkos treated them with cookies thanking them for their efforts in protecting the city. After which, they soon went into their secret base again upon finding the Skeleton King's decapitated skull and empowered him on a headless statue as they performed the ritual. As a result, frogs started raining from the sky wreaking havoc as the citizens ran and a driver lost control of his vehicle, nearly plummeting to his death and causing collateral damage. Initially the Hyperforce suspected their daughter Valeena for the attack due to her already prominent role at the time.
Unsatisfied with the results of their initial attack, they decided to try something more fatal, sending hostile rats all across the city swarming the citizens. They also tied one of them to an altar so they can be eaten by the rats before the Hyperforce managed to rescue them, making him give them a clue on the true perpetrators of the plagues. As Chiro blended in with the cult, the Sheenkos reveal their plot to transform into monsters by the Skeleton King's skull due to the evil will of their plans. However, Valeena barged into their ritual as Pa smiled smugly at her saying his daughter's name knowing she'd show up to take the skull for herself.
As a result, they revealed their faces to her and Mandarin as Chiro and Mandarin were both shocked by the revelation on their true identities and relationship to Valeena. Pa attempted to have Valeena join their side, however she immediately attacked them as Pa revealed that the Skeleton King's skull gave them dark magic allowing them to fight back. Upon their daughter's refusal, they decided to torture her as they cornered her. However, upon looking back they saw that Chiro and Mandarin made their move to retrieve the skull first. Upon noticing it, they imprisoned them using their psychic powers as Pa asked for the skull back calling him "son". Chiro replied back, berating the two for betraying his trust causing him to tear up as Mandarin laughed at his naivety. After Pa took it back by force, the two powered themselves with the skull turning them into large demonic monsters. Upon watching them turn into beasts and attempt to cast a plague of spiders to devour the entire city, the Hyperforce attempted to retaliate to stop their omnicidal plans, however they proved too powerful to be a match for them shutting the Hyperforce's systems sans Nova.
As a last resort, Nova distracted Ma and Pa Sheenko by causing an earthquake as Chiro through his "Chiro Spear-O" to disarm the skull from them and crack it open, thus depowering them to their original forms in the process. With Mandarin and Valeena back to an advantageous position, Mandarin screeched incapaciting everyone but themselves in the process. While Chiro was unconscious, the others woke up resulting in Ma and Pa Sheenko's imprisonment in the off-world's prison. As Chiro heard their fates, he struggled to believe if anyone can truly be good as Antauri reminded him that people can be good, but evil can take advantage of good nature and it's up to people like them to protect those who are exploited by it.
Personality[]
On the surface, the two seem to be innocent civilians who fall victim to the Skeleton King's constant plot of tormenting them along with the other civilians. They express suffering alongside the others and are seen cheering on the Hyperforce when they save the day. This however is nothing more than a facade as they secretly are co-conspirators to the Skeleton King, willing to spread corruption and destruction across the universe even if it means their own torment. They also are shown to be terrible parents, willing sacrificing their daughter and turning her into a demon, torturing her when they disobey her. They're shown to be prideful and enjoys taunting their opponents, mocking Chiro after they reveal their betrayal to him and wasting no chances to torture him as they please. They also show power-hungry tendencies, using the Skeleton King's skull to turn them into monsters as they take on the mantle to finish what the Skeleton King started.
Trivia[]
- In spite of spending most of the show acting as neutral parties who do good for the city, Ma and Pa Sheenko ended up becoming one of the more influential villains of the show, giving birth to their eventual demonic daughter Valeena and keeping the Skeleton King's plans active in Shugazoom City. They are the only civilians of note who played an active role surrounding the Skeleton King's villainy, planning on succeeding him in some way.
