Maax is the main villain from the fantasy film The Beastmaster. Maax was the High Priest of Aruk.

In his very first scene he attempts to sacrifice King Zed's unborn son. As a punishment, he get banished from the kingdom. In revenge, Maax ordered three witches servants to magically extract the infant from his mother's womb and kill him anyways.

Next scene with Maax is set many years later, in which he  sacrifices a child to his God. He attempts to sacrifice another one only for her to be saved by Dar.

In the end, Maax gets defeated when he gets thrown into the sacrificial fire.
