Mackenzie “Mack” Boyd is a fictional character and major protagonist of the long-running ITV British soap opera Emmerdale. He debuted on October 29th 2020 and initially started out as an anti-hero before later becoming one of the show's major protagonists from then onwards.

In his characterisation, Mackenzie is the younger brother of established character Moira Barton and is therefore a member of the Barton Family.

He is portrayed by Lawrence Robb.

History[]

Upon arriving in Emmerdale, Mackenzie reacquainted himself with his estranged sister Moira Barton and kidnapped her husband Cain Dingle as revenge on the former for allegedly walking out on their family when they were younger, after taking the rap for their mother having an affair. Although it was later revealed that Moira didn’t walk out, but was actually kicked out by their alcoholic father. Moira leaving resulted in Mackenzie regularly being beating by their father when he’d had a drink.

In 2022, Mackenzie became acquainted with Cain's cousin Charity Dingle and they had a relationship. Soon the pair got married but Charity initially broke it off after learning that Mackenzie had slept with her granddaughter's closest friend Chloe Harris and got her pregnant with their son Ruben.

Trivia[]

  • He was born at a unknown date in 1983.
