~ Lord Darling and Charles discussing the Mad-Man and his violent nature. |
The Mad-Man is the main antagonist of the 15th episode of Primal, "The Primal Theory". He is a dangerous mental asylum patient who escaped during the year 1890 in England.
Description[]
Appearance[]
He was bald and had yellow eyes and sharp teeth. His frame was similar to Spears. On his torso was a tattoo of a snake going through a skull's empty eye sockets, and below was the word "DEATH". His only clothing was a tattered pair of blue and white striped shorts.
Personality[]
The Mad-Man is a brutal, murderous, and very sadistic psychopath with no morals and conscience. He has very barbaric behavior as he is incapable of self-control and also appears to be incapable of speech and unwilling to do so, instead he only makes deranged noises and maniacal laughter. The Mad-Man seems to enjoy taking pleasure in stalking his prey and tormenting them before killing them and feasting on their corpse.
Powers and Abilities[]
The Mad-Man was incredibly strong, stronger than an average human. He was able to keep fighting after getting shot in the shoulder, getting stabbed repeatedly in the shoulder and having his torso cut open.
Biography[]
In the 1890s, the Historical Society, led by Lord Darlington, come to order with one of the members, Charles, explaining his theory that modern man could revert back to their feral behavior given the circumstance. However, his speculation is laughed off as ludicrous. A cabal arrives to the manor explaining that an inmate from a mental asylum had escaped meaning they should keep themselves safe.
However, the Mad-Man breaks into the manor and savagely mauls the butler to death. Darlington and the other members of the Historical Society go to investigate only to see that the Mad-Man was ripping chunks out of the butler to eat. Seeing the others, the Mad-Man makes them his next victims chasing after them and killing the cook offscreen. The Mad-Man bashes the head in on one of the members and rips the throat out of another quickly dwindling the party down.
While reluctant to call the man "human," the Mad-Man displays several instances of intellect such as by using one of the Englishmen as a shield and sadistically toys around with the others fully aware that they'd be hesitant to shoot at him now that he had a hostage.
The Mad-Man corners the remaining two men, Charles and Darlington, and tries to drown Darlington in the fountain. However, since it was not cruel enough, he instead elects to eat Charles alive in front of Darlington. However, this would be his undoing, since Darlington's primal instincts kick in and he fights the cannibalistic killer on his own terms. He disembowels the Mad-Man before taking a sharp stick and ramming it into his head.
Trivia[]
- The Mad-Man is the only human antagonist that has no interaction with the series' protagonists
- Obviously because he lived in 1890, while Spear and Fang lived in a Bronze age-esque fantasy world.
- The way Darlington killed the Mad-Man was in a similar manner to how Spear killed the Tyrannosaurus rex in the first episode, which could imply that Darlington is a descendant of the caveman.
