Come out, Geppetto! You've got a lot to answer for!
~ Mad Donkey as he attempts to get answers from Giuseppe Geppetto.
What's your probelm? I'm here for the old man. Get lost! Wait... I know you. Or more like I know what you are. You're the devil's puppet! You can't sneak past me! Die!
~ Mad Donkey recognises P as one of Geppetto's creations.

Mad Donkey is a minor antagonist in the 2023 video game Lies of P. He was a Stalker whose companions lost their lives during the Puppet Frenzy. Already terminally ill, he set out with one goal in mind, pry the truth surrounding the event from their creator, Giuseppe Geppetto, or die trying.

He was voiced by Phillipe Bosher.

Biography[]

The Mad Donkey was a Stalker, the donkey mask selected for him to reflect his stubborn nature. At some point, he fell terminally ill. This ultimately proved useful when Krat was ravaged by the Puppet Frenzy and the Petrification Disease, which resulted in the deaths of many of his colleagues, as he had nothing left to lose. He set out with a single minded determination to find answers, believing Giuseppe Geppetto and the Alchemists were responsible. He hunted Geppetto, who was attempting to awaken P.

He eventually cordoned off the area, forcing the inventor to hide in a carriage. He banged his fist on the door of the vehicle, demanding answers from Geppetto, only to be approached by P. Mad Donkey recognized him as Geppetto's puppet, trying to kill him with his Bone-Cutting Saw, threatening to kill both P and Geppetto and hang them from the bridge. However, he began to despair as he seemed to kill him over and over only for P to return alive and well. P finally defeated the Stalker, who mourned his comrades with his dying breath.

Trivia[]

  • Mad Donkey is a reference to the children taken to the Land of Toys in the original The Adventures of Pinocchio, who are turned into donkeys. Ironically, he shares this reference with the very King of Puppets.
    • Fittingly, his fight follows the Parade Master, who alludes to an area and has similarities to the Coachman, who takes the children there.
