Mad Garbo is a major antagonist in the Tokusatsu show Mobile Detective Jiban. She is a Jiban Cyborg Killer created by Doctor Giba as a counter to Jiban.
She was voiced by the late Kazuko Yanaga.
Biography[]
Mad Garbo was genetically engineered by Doctor Giba as a counterpart to Jiban after he thwarted several of Bioron's plots. She was first deployed during Bioron's plan to kidnap Mayumi and uncover the location of Jiban's base. After Mayumi was captured, Mad Garbo attempted to use a mind eating parasite to access Mayumi's memories and find out where Jiban's base was, but Harry destroyed the parasite to save Mayumi. After having Marsha and Karsha throw Harry off a bridge for his interference, Mad Garbo received new orders from Doctor Giba to attach a bomb onto Mayumi and set it to explode when she hugs Jiban.
Using power from Queen Cosmos, she and Rhinonoid are able to kill Jiban in Episode 34. With Jiban out of the way, the rest of Bioron is able to move forward with their all-out on Japan, only for it to be thwarted when Jiban is resurrected as Perfect Jiban.
After Bioron obtained the documents for Jiban, Giba remodeled Mad Garbo to assume Jiban's total appearance and sent her to attack him. During the fight, she has Reson, Spylas and Vaican attack Jiban making them believe Jiban was Mad Garbo. She even got as far as damaging Jiban so badly that he went blind, but Mayumi's despair at seeing her brother about to be killed caused what energy of Queen Cosmos was left to gather and blast Fake Jiban, turning her back into regular Mad Garbo. Beaten back by Jiban, Mad Garbo decided to retreat for the time being.
During the final battle between Jiban and Bioron, Mad Garbo went to fight Jiban flanked by Marsha and Karsha for a final time. No longer able to counter each of Jiban's attacks thanks to Jiban suppressing his emotions, Mad Garbo was killed by Jiban.
