Witch Ninja Madam Spider is a spider-themed ninja versed in a variety of magical abilities and a major antagonist in Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraiya. She joins up with the Sorcerers Clan to assist Dokusai in obtaining the Pako.
She was portrayed by the late Machiko Soga, who also played Queen Pandora in the Metal Hero series as well as Queen Hedrian and Bandora in the Super Sentai series.
Biography[]
In the past, Madam Spider co-founded the Sorcerers Clan with Org Ninja Dokusai after he betrayed the Togakure school and stole half the tablet that gave directions to the Pako.
In the present day, Madam Spider returned to Japan around the same time Demost was unsealed to assist Dokusai in his efforts against Jiraiya. She made her presence known to the Sorcerers Clan by spraying Dokusai with spider webs. Though Benikiba and Retsukiba thought she was an enemy, Dokusai immediately recognized that the webs were from his old acquaintance and greeted Madam Spider. Madam Spider told Dokusai that she had heard of the trouble Dokusai was having against Jiraiya and feared for his reputation, though Dokusai assured her that he was only holding back his true strength to get Jiraiya to lower his guard and demonstrated an inkling of his true power to her.
Madam Spider's initial scheme to defeat the Togakure school was to set up a rival martial arts school next to them. The children who attended it would be trained to become Karasutengu and sent to attack Togakure, while any children who failed the training exercises were imprisoned. However, Toha caught on to what Madam Spider was planning and freed the children she had captured.
Madam Spider and Dokusai later enacted another scheme to get Oruha to kill Jiraiya for them by kidnapping his lover Kasumi and using her to blackmail Oruha into betraying Jiraiya. However, unbeknownst to Madam Spider and the Sorcerers, Oruha and Jiraiya came up with a plan to fake Jiraiya's death and make the Sorcerers Clan think he had killed him. After Oruha seemingly killed Jiraiya however, Dokusai and Madam Spider revealed Oruha's current location to the leader of the Paper Ninja Clan, planning to have them take care of Oruha to tie up any loose ends.
Madam Spider later concocted a scheme to destroy Jiraishin by hypnotizing Holy Ninja Alamsa with her magical abilities and getting him to raise the ancient mecha so it could be destroyed. However, Manabu's new friend was able to break Madam Spider's hold over him by playing a song which blurred out Madam Spider's hypnotizing whispers.
Later, as the planet Dark Star approached Earth, the Pako's location at the foot of Mt. Kongo would become unearthed. Dokusai and the Sorcerers, the Yamaji family and their allies, and various other World Ninjas all made plays to get to the Pako, with the Yamaji family managing to reach it first. After Jiraiya and Rei awakened the Pako however, they learned that it had been sent by the Dark Star to conquer Earth, and that its people were now coming to Earth to destroy Pako for giving up on the mission. Despite this revelation, Dokusai and his followers still quested after the Pako's power for their own ends. They captured it after it was summoned again by Jiraiya and brought it to one of their hideouts, only for Demost to appear to claim it and give it an opportunity to flee during the scuffle.
Following Demost's destruction, Dokusai made a final play to get to the Pako, which had sealed itself inside Jiraishin. To hold off Jiraiya and his allies, Dokusai had Madam Spider use her crystal ball to summon the spirits of World Ninjas Uha, Makumba, Abdad, Lu-Long, Chang Kung-Fu Jr., Gyuma, Parchis, Silver Shark, Strowver and Demost to attack Jiraiya. Dokusai's army of spirits fought against Jiraiya, Emiha, Reiha, Manabu and Baron Owl while Tetsuzan went to find Dokusai's location. After Mafuuba, Wild and Rocket Man showed up and assisted the heroic ninjas in defeating the resurrected World Ninjas, Tetsuzan ambushed Madam Spider and destroyed her crystal ball.
Dokusai called upon the spirits of the 10 slain World Ninjas to perform the ultimate technique of the Sorcerers Clan and grow giant, but he was defeated by Toha in Jiraishin. Despite the Pako having left, Dokusai and Madam Spider still challenged Jiraiya to a final duel. While Dokusai fought Jiraiya, Madam Spider battled Tetsuzan. She attempted to sneak up on him disguised as a spider but Tetsuzan noticed her presence and slashed her, reverting her to her true form and defeating her.
