Madame Lan is the overarching antagonist of the 1981 Hong Kong slasher film Corpse Mania. Lan is a brothel madam and the accomplice of serial killer Lin Bin.

She is portrayed by Tanny Tien-Ni.

Biography

Lan had a client named Li Zhengyuan who wanted to buy the freedom of the women at her brothel, the Zui Fong House. She hoped to simply kill Li for his money and keep her business. When she found out he bought one woman, Hong-fei, to rape her after she died of tuberculosis, she decided to use that for hed future plans. Once he exchanged the money, Lin, a liquor courier for Zui Fong, hit him with a planting pot, then choked Li with Lan's help. They buried him, and when they accepted they couldn't stay, they planned to use Li as a patsy for their future crimes.

Lin killed and raped two women at the brothel, stealing a third dead woman after she got sick and died, also to rape. Lan appeared at the police staging feigning distress from the crimes. When mobster Beard Nine tried to blackmail her, Lin stabbed him to death. Lan wanted to fake her death, so Lin killed Yan-Er, Lan's adopted daughter. On the night of a sting to catch Lin at Zui Fong, Lin killed a cop in a staged attack on Lan, then threw Yan-Er off the roof to make her look like Lan and fake her death. Lan hid in a secret chamber in a wall until police were gone.

Chief of Police Zhang knew Yan-Er was thrown off the roof, as she didn't have stained fingers like Lan, who constantly smoked. Lan got Li's money from her hiding place, then met Lin at a secluded spot. When Lin wanted the money for himself, he beheaded Lan, before the police arrested him. He would later be executed.
