Wind Ninja Mafuuba is a cyborg ninja created by the Sorcerers Clan and the antagonist of episode 16 of Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraiya.
He was originally Wind of the Special Ninja Team. After the team was wiped out and Wind was the only member left alive, he was modified into a cyborg by the Sorcerers and given the abilities of his teammates. He would later desert the Sorcerers Clan to become a World Ninja and go off on his own.
He was portrayed by Jyunichi Haruta.
Biography[]
As a child, Wind lost his parents one night when their house collapsed due to strong winds, leaving him the only survivor. This traumatic night led Wind to develop a fear of the sound of wind and thus, as an adult, he joined the Sorcerers Clan to train with winds to get over his trauma.
After Fire, Water, Earth and Wood demonstrated their abilities to Org Ninja Dokusai, Wind appeared to request to be put on the Special Ninja Team as well. After showing off his wind powers, Dokusai agreed to allow him to join.
The Special Ninja Team were then sent to assassinate Jiraiya. After his four teammates ambushed Jiraiya and captured him, Wind was set to deliver the final blow, but stopped and had a traumatic flashback after hearing the sound of wind. With Wind unable to finish off Jiraiya, Earth broke formation to due it himself, leading Jiraiya to break free and defeat all of them.
Though critically injured, Wind was recovered by the Sorcerers Clan and converted into a cyborg, having the abilities of his dead teammates transformed to him. The newly created Wind Ninja Mafuuba was then sent to try again to kill Jiraiya with his newfound power. Mafuuba at first overpowered Jiraiya with his newfound abilities, but after Jiraiya realized that Mafuuba was the same ninja as wind, he created wind sounds to cause Mafuuba to stop. Jiraiya then defeated Mafuuba, but chose to spare his life, leading a grateful Mafuuba to ride off on his motorcycle and desert the Sorcerers Clan.
