Margarita García Centurión, also known as Maggie, is one of the four secondary antagonists (alongside Benicio, Ramiro Ponce and Rey Gutiérrez) in the third season of the Disney Channel Latin-American series Soy Luna.
She is an accomplice to Sharon Benson, going undercover to the Benson Mansion by being employed as the new maid in order to get close to the Valentes. However, she has a change of heart after realizing how complicated the situation is for them.
Not much is known about Maggie's early life, other than the fact that she met Sharon and they became best friends.
Season 3[]
Maggie first appears as one of the applicants for the job as new maid for the Benson Mansion, managing to win over Mónica, Miguel and Alfredo, the rightful owners, because of her likeable personality. However, little do they know is that Sharon Benson, their former boss, employed her to spy on the Valentes and feed any pivotal information, as Sharon wishes for nothing more than getting revenge on them for "stealing" the inheritance from her, especially after Luna found out that she is Sol Benson, Sharon's originally-presumed dead niece whose biological parents got killed in a fire. Unaware of this, Rey, who was rehired after he apologized for his previous behaviour concerning Sharon, is constantly annoyed by her talkative, meddling attitude and constant flirting towards him and only treats her like nothing more than an employee, still behaving like when he used to work for Sharon, with everyone implying that Rey is being hard on her. Rey eventually finds out that Maggie is, in fact, Sharon's spy, and confronts Sharon for not telling him about this. Nevertheless, Sharon manages to convince Rey that they work together to enact the plan. So far, everyone thinks that Rey and Maggie are on their side, yet they are kept in the dark about their involvement with Sharon.
When he and Maggie try to steal one of the paintings (on Sharon's orders), they are almost caught by Luna an Nina, so, not knowing how to react, Maggie kisses Rey, much to the amusement of both girls. To avoid any suspicion on them, Rey and Maggie pretend to be a couple, even if Rey is not genuinely interested in her. As a result, they manage to steal all of the paintings and replace them with fake ones (while they are accidentally recorded with Jazmín's tablet, which she left behind at the mansion) that are sold at an auction, which causes law troubles for Luna's parents and Alfredo: They receive a court order in which the buyers accuse them for falsifying the paintings and Sharon anonymously reports them to the police by falsely claiming that they are trying to leave the city, resulting in their arrest and later immediate release, although the investigation is still pending. Ana, Nina's mother who is a lawyer, offers to help them clean their names and find the culprit. Nevetheless, the arrest leaves both Rey. Maggie and surprisingly Ámbar who, now a rebellious black-wearing goth and despite resenting the Valentes, finds Sharon's actions to be completetly out of line.
Rey and Maggie keep working for Sharon to try and frame the Valentes for theft and they have meetings with Sharon so that she finds out what is happening in the mansion. During nightfall, Sharon is seen peeking through one of the windows of the mansion, just as Pedro opens it and gets frightened at the sight of her, with Matteo, Simón and Michel as witnesses. However, just as Miguel checks on the window, Sharon has already fled the scene. Another night, Sharon sees Luna about to open a chest that contains something "mysterious". When she demands that the key be given to her, Luna instead throws it and falls into the garden. Luna chases after Sharon but she escapes. Maggie finds the key and keeps it for herself instead of telling Rey or Sharon. She uses it to blackmail Sharon into paying her more than she had bargained for. Sharon blames Rey for Luna discovering her while pressuring Rey into finding the key. He then finds out Maggie has the key and steals it from her purse, but when Sharon uses it and does not open the chest, Maggie reveals to Rey that she predicted he would steal the key back from her and she had replaced it for a fake one. Maggie is jealous of Sharon and suspects that she is seducing Rey to control him.
While Rey, now fully corrupted by Sharon, is still determined to go through with the plan, Maggie starts to feel bad for the Valentes that, in some ocassions, tries to tell them the truth but she chickens out. Rey is finally exposed when Ámbar and Luna find him in the mansion's warehouse with the real paintings but he escapes the mansion while nervously trying to explain himself. He runs into Maggie, who feigns being assaulted by Rey to save herself to stop Miguel from catching up to him. Later on, she contacts Rey, telling him how she misses him, making Rey realize that everything she said about Sharon was true and that he did not value her enough. However, Maggie gets angered, quickly deducing that Rey met her again and that she had used him. Before she could interrogate him further, Maggie is interrupted by Alfredo, forcing Maggie to hang up on Rey. She manages to disguise, rather clumsily, who she talking to, but her involvement with Sharon came back to bite her hard after Luna found the footage from Jazmín's tablet of Maggie's high heels stealing the paintings with Rey, which she shows to her parents and Ana, who are understandably upset at her for lying to them the entire time. Remorseful, Maggie begs for another chance and agrees to assist them in arresting Sharon, suggesting that she use the chest's key to lure her out of hiding, but the key is gone because Maggie accidentally lost it while she was out, but still goes through with deceiving Sharon even without the key, asking her to meet at a restaurant, not knowing that a team of cops will be waiting for her. Maggie enters the restaurant, but Sharon already predicted this and avoided the trap by disguising herself and hiring a person to leave a note for Maggie mocking her.
Having hired a thief to steal Maggie's purse, Sharon gets the keys to the mansion, once again entering disguised as a gardener while Mónica, Miguel, Alfredo and Ana are away. She repeatedly tries to pry open the chest but fails. As a final act of revenge, she uses a lighter to destroy the chest, saying that if she doesn't open it no one will, but ends up causing a fire at the mansion. Rey and Maggie immediately smell the smoke and realize that the mansion is on fire. Rey goes to look for Alfredo, thinking that he stayed behind to rest, and tells Maggie to call the fire brigade. Rey finds Sharon and desperately tells her they have to go because it's dangerous, but she refuses to leave until the chest is fully destroyed. Rey tries to leave, but the smoke debris make him fall to the ground. He vainly tries to reach the doorknob but Rey is weakened that he loses conciousness until he is rescued by the firefighters along with Luna and Ámbar before alerting everyone that Sharon is still inside the burning mansion just as Ámbar and Alfredo desperately fear for her life and the camera zooms out of the mansion. A month later, despite their redemption, it is revealed that Rey and Maggie's sentence for helping Sharon in her plans has been reduced to community service. Maggie says that at least they didn't end up in prison and that they can now be together. This is the last time they are ever seen, meaning that they were unable to attend Luna's 18th birthday party when Alfredo implies that their absence is felt.
Personality[]
Maggie appears bubbly and talkative, but is in reality cunning, frivolous, consumerist, and verbose. She likes fashion and jewelry. Maggie will put her cunning and skill at the service of what she most desires: to bathe in diamonds before turning 40 years old. She knows how to use with and to say the right things to get what she wants.
