Very well! I'll drive! (diabolic laughter) I need blood!
~ Maggie's only words at the end of the episode, revealing her true side.

Maggie Simpson is the main antagonist of "Starship Poopers", a segment from the Simpsons episode Treehouse of Horror IX.

In this segment, Maggie is discovered to be the daughter of Kang, who she called to Earth using her pacifier to be retrieved. As it turns out, Maggie was born nine months after Kang abducted Marge for a cross-breeding program. Throughout the segment, Kang and Homer fight over her, until Maggie kills Jerry, who was attempting to settle the conflict between the two. In the end, she reveals her true side and laughs evilly, wanting blood.

She is voiced by Harry Shearer, who also voices Seymour Skinner, Mr. Burns and Kang as well as other characters in the same series.

Appearance[]

Maggie Simpson's appearance in the segment looks the same as her original counterpart, but she has a tiny fang inside her mouth and her legs are green tentacles, as well as having no arms.

Biography[]

Maggie was having dinner with the other Simpsons, but as Marge was feeding her, she started to cry. Bart asks her what's happening to Maggie and as it turns out, a small fang has grown inside Maggie's mouth, which disgusts Homer, Bart and Lisa, before they resume eating. While watching television, Homer plays with Maggie, but her baby legs suddenly fall off and green tentacles emerge from where her legs were supposed to be, revealing that her baby legs were fake and that her actual legs were similar to an alien. Meanwhile, Maggie uses her green tentacles to walk across the wall and onto the ceiling, where she threatens Bart and Lisa from above. Marge, worried, asks Homer to do something about it, as a ceiling could very dangerous for a baby. Homer attempts to get Maggie down with a broom, but Maggie refuses to go down and grabs the broom with her tentacles, swaying Homer around, hitting several walls around the living room and destroying several things, like the family picture and a window.

Wanting to know what happened to Maggie, the Simpsons bring her to the Springfield General Hospital. Dr. Hibbert attempts to check on her, but Maggie becomes aggressive and destroys his equipment. Marge asks Hibbert if there is a solution to save Maggie, to which he recommends to set on fire. This annoys Marge as "Fire" is always what he thinks about for a cure. Back at the house, Maggie is in her bed, playing with her toys. Lisa, worried, wishes to know what was happening. Maggie suddenly sucks her pacifier faster, like if she was calling someone. This would be confirmed as true when Kang and Kodos receive a message from Maggie, asking them to retrieve her from Earth. Maggie is later seen grabbed into the living room lamp, watching television with the other Simpsons as the doorbell rings, revealing Kang and Kodos, who came to retrieve their daughter. Homer never knew about this, so Marge tells him that Kang is actually Maggie's real father, making Homer worried for a brief moment until he asks her how this happened. Marge explains that two years ago, while doing laundry, she was abducted by Kang and Kodos for a cross-breeding program, later resulting in Maggie's birth nine months later. Kang now wanted Maggie to return home with her family, but Homer refuses to hand her over to him, causing both of them to fight over her. Bart interrupts the fight and tells both of them that there is one man who could resolve their conflict: Jerry Springer.

The Simpsons then decide to participate in The Jerry Springer Show to settle the fight over Maggie. However, once Homer saw Kang kiss Marge's hand, the two began to fight again over Maggie both are separated by security guards. Soon after, Kang is humiliated by the audience for his irresponsibility over his own daughter, only for him to vaporize them all with his ray gun, leaving only Jerry alive. However, while Jerry was talking about his "final thought", Maggie jumps on his head and grabs it with her tentacles, causing Jerry to scream and swear as Kang chokes him to save Maggie, eventually killing him in the process. The conflict between Homer and Kang failed to be resolved, but Kang and Kodos give the Simpsons one last chance to hand over the baby, otherwise they would kill all of the leaders in Washington. Marge then mocks them on how they are really able to kill every politician, as both Kang and Kodos then leave Earth, leaving Maggie with the Simpsons. But as the Simpsons were about to return home, Maggie removes her pacifier and speaks with Kang's voice, saying she will be one who will be driving, laughing maniacally as she needs blood.

Trivia[]

  • The way Maggie attacks Jerry during his show is a reference to the Facehugger from the Alien movies.
  • This is one of the few times Maggie speaks in the Simpsons, even though she speaks with Kang's voice in this episode.
  • This version of Maggie also makes an appearance in the introduction sequence of Treehouse of Horror X.
