The Magkikoopas, led by Kamek, are supporting antagonists in the Super Mario franchise. They are the archenemies of the Yoshi clan.
Biography[]
Super Mario World[]
They first appear in this title as primary enemies in the castle stages. They are one of the more tougher enemies as they teleport a lot. They are seen in Lemmy Koopa and Larry Koopa's Castles.
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars[]
A Magikoopa named Wizakoopa appears as a boss in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, where he is fought at Bowser's Keep. After defeating him in battle, it turns out that he was hypnotized into working for the Smithy Gang and, upon seeing Bowser in Mario's party, decides to help out by producing a treasure chest that holds infinite amount of coins.
Super Mario Galaxy[]
Magikoopas are found as enemies in Super Mairo Galaxy. They can use their magic to summon Goombas and many other obstacles. Their teleporting ability is still intact. The Magikoopa boss appearing in Space Junk Galaxy and Deep Dive Galaxy is Kamella.
Super Mario Galaxy 2[]
Magikoopas reappear in Super Mario Galaxy 2 retaining the behavior from the last game, with the addition of summoning Li'l Cinders. When Yoshi eats them they spit out star bits.
Super Mario 3D Land[]
Magikoopas reappear in Super Mario 3D Land, where they mostly appear in Boom Boom and Pom Pom's airships as well as Bowser's castles.
