Magma is a supporting character in Dr. Stone. He is one of the strongest warriors in Ishigami Village. He wants to win the Grand Bout and become chief of the village.

He was voiced by Yasuhiro Mamiya in the Japanese version, and by J. Michael Tatum in the English dubbed version.

Appearance[]

He has blond shoulder-length hair with a streak hanging over his face. Magma wears the regular outfit of the village, being a blue shirt and pants, with a rope as a belt. He also has a very muscular build.

Personality[]

Magma used to be a very power-hungry individual, known for his brutality. He came off being very egotistical, finding himself to be the best and the manliest amongst his villagers. He used to be incredibly sadistic as he was willing beat Chrome in front of Ruri, for the sake of having her watch, knowing full well of their affections for one another. Its his ego however that makes him very easy for others to outsmart him, due to his overconfidence.

Following his defeat for position as chief, Magma has slowly changed for the better. Though he is still desires to become the chief of his village, he has no desire to bring harm on Senku and his friends. Magma has grown a form of respect and admiration for Senku to the point that he acknowledges him for his intelligence and his ability to create incredible inventions that help benefit his people. Because of this, Magma has become more willing to giving his full co-operation to Senku. He has also acknowledged Kohaku and Kinro for their strength, with him expressing the latter to be an underling of his.

Despite this, he stll tends to be arrogant and dimwitted, but his arrogance is often the subject of comedic purposes where he finds himself in conflict with Yo Uei, often competiting and arguing with him over the little things, only for the two to be scold by Nikki.

Biography[]

He lives in Ishigami Village. The priestess Ruri needs a husband, who will become the new leader, since she is very ill. To determine him, the village holds a competition. Together with his assistant Mantle, Magma trains to be the winner. He is already a strong fighter and is sure that Ruri will also be impressed by his manliness. However, what he really plans is to kill Ruri after he won and then rule the village alone. When Senku and Gen show up and introduce science, he is quite astounded. Gen does some simple magic tricks, which he believes to be sorcery. Since he fears he'll lose power, he attacks and stabs Gen, who barely survived. With Gen supposedly dead, Magma believes his chance of winning is secured.

When Ruri's sister, Kohaku, and her friends compete as well, Magma has Mantle distract them. Kohaku runs off to find the supposedly drowning friend, even though it was just a deception. If she doesn't return in time she will be disqualified. Magma is happy since she is one of his main rivals. When he sees how sickly Ruri is, he laughs and states, he won't even need to kill her himself. This angers Kinro, who he fights first. Magma is surprised by how quick his attacks are. But he gains the upperhand again and beats him up. Before the match is over Suika gives Kinro her glasses-helmet, which allows him to see better. He then attacks Magma even more precisely than before and gives him a beating.
