~ A poem on Magnamalo.
Magnamalo is the flagship monster and the secondary antagonist in Monster Hunter Rise.
Magnamalo is known for appearing every fifty years in the Kamura Village during the Rampage, and it eats monsters during the Rampage. It is also highly feared by the village due to the fact that it almost destroyed the entire village fifty years ago.
It is also extremely hostile to both monsters and hunters, as it is shown attacking other monsters multiple times, such as Arzuros or Tobi-Kadachi, and carrying them with his jaws after attacking. Later in the game it even attacks Thunder Serpent Narwa's Allmother form.
It often attacks with his thin sharp tail by poking it quickly to either hunters or other monsters, it can use its tail to shoot purple fire that are known as "hellfire". It can also release purple gas that later explodes.
Magnamalo also seems to be a strong monster, as it is even able to crash a flying Kushala Daora onto the ground. Its Scorned state is even more powerful, being able to evenly match Elder Dragons like Malzeno.
Other Media[]
Super Smash Bros.[]
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Magnamalo appears as one of the game's various spirits, introduced in the event named after the game it hails from. An Ace-level Attack-type spirit, it makes the user's fist-based attacks stronger on use. In its spirit battle, the player must fight against a giant Bowser on the underground section of Castle Siege in a stamina match, with the Bowser being quite fast from the start and gaining a boost to its attack power and defenses after some time passes.
Powers and Abilities[]
Hellfire attack: It can burn other monsters or hunters with hellfire, which explodes if it stays on the victim's body for a too long period of time.
Tail attack: Its tail is thin and sharp, as it once poked a Tobi-Kadachi with it.
Diving attack: When Magnamalo fights monsters that are able to fly, the monsters will try to flee, and Magnamalo will pounce onto its back. After struggling, Magnamalo will send both of them into a dive, causing the flying monster to crash to the ground with an explosion, with Magnamalo seemingly unharmed.
Purple gas attack: Magnamalo can sometimes create purple gas that will later explode when it pokes its tail out.
