Maia Simmons is a major antagonist in the 2021 crossover film Godzilla vs. Kong, the fourth installment of the MonsterVerse franchise. She is the daughter of Walter Simmons and the second-in-command of Apex Cybernetics who was chosen to accompany Monarch on its mission to relocate Kong to and explore the Hollow Earth so that Apex can extract its energy to power Mechagodzilla in order to defeat Godzilla.
She was portrayed by Eiza Gonzalez, who also portrayed Darling in Baby Driver and Santánico Pandemónium in From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series.
Personality[]
Maia shows herself to be a very condescending, prideful, and self-centered person as well as a smug, spoiled, rich brat, completely devoted to her company. When telling the capabilities of the Hollow Earth Aerial Vehicles, she remarked that Nathan should be more impressed with Apex Cybernetics's accomplishments with it and becomes quite snippy when he referred to it as a helicopter. She also showed she cared very little about anyone else involved in the mission being more concerned with getting the job done. The only person she seemed to care about besides herself was her father whom she seemed to respect if nothing else.
By the end of it, however, Maia is not only portrayed as selfish to a tee, but also cowardly and incompetent. Whom cannot handle herself all that well during a time of crisis, as her making incredibly shortsighted inclinations in a tight situation for the sake of self-preservation would screw up the mission more than once. She's also proven to be quite disloyal as she had no problem turning on those whom she traveled with. Especially considering they helped her survive up to a point when her own stupidity and flightless panic incited incredibly dumb life decisions.

Biography[]
Maia was sent by her father to deliver the H.E.A.V. transports to the expedition and to watch over the venture and ensure its success. After retrieving the necessary information regarding the energy signature of the Hollow Earth's power source she tried to abandon the rest of the expedition and escape to the surface but made the mistake of ordering her pilot to fire on Kong to make him move out of the way which lead to her transport being crushed by Kong's hand when he angrily retaliated killing Maia in the process which her father never seemed to find out before his own death.
