Maiko Ōgure is a minor antagonist in the 2013-2014 original anime series Kill la Kill.

She was voiced by Marina Inoue in the Japanese version, and by Dorothy Elias-Fahn in the English dubbed version.

Appearance

Maiko is a high school girl who is shorter than Ryuko and Mako, with pale skin, short dark brown hair, and red irises. Despite being a Club President (being a member of the Discipline Committee), she wears the No Star Uniform; however, this could be due to Maiko disguising herself as one to blend in with those participating in "No-Late Day".

In addition, she wears a fake cast for her right forearm during the event.

History

In Episode 4, Ryūko Matoi and Mako Mankanshoku first encountered Maiko during "No-Late Day" when she is seen as injured with a seemingly broken arm. However, she quickly wins the pair's sympathies through sheer courage, and the trio started to go through the numerous traps and obstacles that go all the way to Honnōji Academy. Despite this, Maiko would often faint from her arm in the even most dangerous times in the traps, usually exposing Ryūko's panties by tugging on her pants to hold on (though this actually distracted Mako's family from delivering Senketsu to Ryūko). Eventually, Ryūko, Mako, and Maiko hijacked a bus to speed up; Maiko herself was able to drive the bus to heavily avoid heavy fire, despite her broken arm.

When the three finally reached to the top, Maiko shockingly revealed herself to be the head of the Trap Development of the Discipline Committee, while proceeding to steal Senketsu and donning the Kamui on herself. She then also revealed to Ryūko and Mako her plans to take over Honnōji Academy by overthrowing Satsuki Kiryūin. However, Senketsu immobilizes Maiko, allowing Ryūko to retrieve him. With five minutes remaining, Maiko sets off one more trap: the grounds of the school that Ryūko and Mako are standing on is actually a disguised wheeled platform, which sends the two rolling down all the way to square one.

After escaping from the platform, she is eventually caught by Ira Gamagōri, stripped of her rank and then expelled from the academy for trying to conspire against Satsuki.
