Major Allen C. Hamilton, or simply Hamilton, is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Michael Heimeroth) of the 2004 videogame Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. He is the adjutant base commander for the Sand Island Air Force Base, as well as an undercover agent for the Gray Men. He was also a former member for the Grabacr Squadron.
He was voiced by Yasunori Masutani. In the English dub, he was voiced by Crispin Freeman.
Biography[]
Past[]
Hamilton was born in 1982 in the country of Osea. He joined the Osean Air Defense Force after being inspired by his uncle. He was assigned to the 8492nd Squadron, a squadron consisting of mostly fomer Belkan pilots. It's presumed that he was recruited by the Gray Men during this period. As a result, he played a part in plotting the Circum-Pacific War.
The Unsung War[]
Hamilton is first seen when he informs Genette of Yuktobania's declaration of war against the Osean Federation, after retrieving said reporter's camera. He then assigns Genette to the Osean press corps the following day.
The next time he is seen is when he stops Genette from recording the base commander, as the latter was in a bad mood that day (due to a bomb detonation on the Arkbird).
Hamilton, now having started working with the Gray Men's plans, tricks the base commander into thinking that the Wardog Squadron were actually traitors. He then unsuccessfully attempts to apprehend Blaze and his wingman Kei Nagase, and is promptly knocked out cold by the latter. After seeing that Wardog (alongside Pops, Genette and Chopper's pet dog Kirk) had escaped the base, he sends a bulletin to the OADF ordering them to shoot them down on sight. He then gives clearance to engage the Wardog Squadron to the 8492nd Squadron after they managed to locate the former. He also orders Marcus Snow to shoot down Wardog after he arrives from the OFS Kestrel, to which he falsely complies, tricking Hamilton (and to an extent, the rest of the Osean Federation and the Gray Men) that they had been killed in action.
Hamilton is seen one last time during the final battle in Sudentor, where he directly engages Wardog Squadron (now known as Razgriz Squadron) in a dogfight, piloting a MiG-1.44 Flatpack. He orders all the Osean warmonger forces to attack Razgriz Squadron upon learning that they are in the airspace. He follows Razgriz Squadron into the tunnel facility, attempting to shoot them down and revealing that he plans to take the V1 weapon Gründer Industries promised for the warmongers and threaten both sides into ending the war. He eventually crashes into a ricocheting aircraft that had followed Jack Bartlett from the other side, instantly killing him.
Trivia[]
- Hamilton is possibly the only agent for the Gray Men that isn't from Belkan descent.
- He is similar to Larry Foulke, in the sense that both are traitors for their respective allies (Pixy for Cipher and the Allied Forces, Hamilton for Wardog Squadron and Osea), both of them tried to use a nuke for "ending all wars", both of them engaged the main characters in a final battle, and both of them work for a terrorist organization (A World With No Boundaries for Pixy, and the Gray Men). However, Pixy redeems himself after his defeat and atones for his crimes during his time in AWWNB, while Hamilton never regrets what he does, adamantly believing that he is doing the right thing, and does not survive his final engagement with the protagonists.
