Major Kuznetsov (Rus.: Кузнецов) is a minor antagonist of the Ukrainian FPS Survival Horror video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow Of Chernobyl.
He is a corrupt Ukrainian officer and the commander of a small outpost by the bridge at the Cordon.
Personality[]
Kuznetsov despite being a Military members appears non-hostile and even slightly "affable" towards Mechenyj. However, he neither friendly nor affable, unlike his men, who are more than willing to sit and talk with Mechenyj. Major Kuznetsov views Mechenyj as an opportunity to earn money. Just like he views any other stalker.
Appearance[]
Major Kuznetsov wears a soldier uniform. The uniform consists of a Soviet-pattern camouflage battle dress uniform, heavy military boots and a PSZ-7(Personal Protection System Model 7) bulletproof vest, combined with a backpack and combat webbing and a black watch cap.
Biography[]
Nothing is known about Kuznetsov's past, but its implied that at some point he joined the Military and was send to the Zone. At some point he was send to guard the railway bridge at the Cordon, since it's the most common place where stalkers starts their journey. But, apparently, Kuznetsov viewed it as a business opportunity and was taking bribes from stalkers.
Mechenyj encounters Kuznetsov and his group when heading to Lis. The Major stops Mechenyj and tells him to back off or to pay. The player can either pay Kuznetsov and walk past the outpost or go another way, or even straight up kill Kuznetsov and his men. If the player decides to kill Kuznetsov and his men then they would be replaced by special forces.

- Gunmanship: Major Kuznetsov carries a unique gun, Fort-15, which is a modified version of Fort-12Mk2 which features an enlarged magazine holding three more bullets than Fort-12Mk2 and a large increase in reliability.
