Malachai is a supporting antagonist in Seasons 2 and 3 of the CW/Netflix series Riverdale. He is the leader of the Ghoulies and a Jingle Jangle drug dealer.
He was portrayed by Tommy Martinez.
Biography[]
In Season 2, Malachai is seen arranging with Tall Boy to form a gang alliance but Jughead Jones refuses due to the Ghoulies' trafficking of Jingle Jangle. The next day, Jug and Archie Andrews meet Malachai and challenge him to a dragsters race; if Jughead wins, the Ghoulies stop their drug dealing but if not they could continue it. After Veronica Lodge and Betty Cooper arrive, Malachai insults the girls and orders everyone to leave. Jughead eventually agreed to expand the Ghoulies' traffic area and so Malachai agreed to race. During the race, Malachai and Verne passed Jughead and Archie and rolled to the Herk Harvey Bridge. They were then intercepted by Sheriff Keller and the police who arrested them.
Malachai is seen again with his gang at Pop's cafe and have started destroying the restaurant and the cars around it. After a failed attempt to get them to leave by Archie, the Ghoulies flee when Fred, FP Jones and Keller arrive. Malachai is present alongside Penny Peabody when she kidnaps Toni Topaz and confronts Jughead. The latter came with Cheryl who manages to get Penny and Malachai to leave although Penny threatens Jughead's friends with death. During a new confrontation between the Ghoulies and Jughead, Malachai threatens him by talking about what they are going to do to Betty, his girlfriend. This causes Jug to punch Malachai but the Ghoulies beat him hard in turn and Penny says her sacrifice will have been useless. Malachai is then seen with Penny at a secret meeting by Hiram Lodge also featuring Penelope Blossom, Claudius Blossom, and Sheriff Michael Minetta. Hiram confirms that Malachai and the Ghoulies will be his soldiers and dealers.
Malachai returns in a single episode of Season 3 when he and the Ghoulies trap Jughead and the Southside Serpents. As Jughead gives Penny his jacket, Malachai approaches him and receives an arrow shot in the shoulder by Cheryl. This causes Malachai, Penny, and the Ghoulies to flee and he is not seen again afterwards.

Malachai is a violent, aggressive, and misogynistic man. He is also greedy and willing to kill to achieve his goals.
