Malchemical is a minor antagonist in the highly controversial 2006 comic book series The Boys, appearing in the first few issues of Volume 4. He is an arrogant "superhero" who was initially a member of Team Titanic but was kicked from the team due to committing rape by deception on the team leader's girlfriend and forced to be the temporary team leader of Super Duper, a team of mentally handicapped superheroes, and do well in order to pass a report card to return to Team Titanic. He initially acts like a mere jerk towards the team for their mental underdevelopment, though he later takes it to the extreme by trying to rape Ladyfold and Stool Shadow out of spite.
Biography[]
Malchemical used to be a member of Team Titanic as a public facade as a superhero, but ended up being kicked from the team due to disguising himself as the team's leader with his shapeshifting abilities and engaging in sexual activity with the team leader's girlfriend while posing as the team leader himself. He would then be assigned as the temporary team leader of the group of mentally handicapped superheroes, Super Duper, on account of a report card that, if he passes, could help him return to Team Titanic.
He first appears to be arriving at a welcome party set up for him by the team, with Auntie Sis, the only one in the team who isn't mentally handicapped, trying to introduce him to the team, only to be brushed off by Malchemical, who states that he already knows their names before tasting the cake and the drinks at the party. Auntie Sis then explains to him what they usually do: going out and patrolling and taking care of any local stuff, and asks him if he'd like to come along for that routine with them later on, to which Malchemical declares to pass. Malchemical then starts acting like a jerk when Klanker, who is unable to resist saying "f***ing c**t," says it, to which Malchemical begins to mockingly laugh when learning that he can't help saying it before Auntie Sis quiets his laughter by telling him that he should join them on patrol on account of it possibly doing him some good. Malchemical then insults Stool Shadow when she says that she didn't get any cake and gets reminded by Auntie Sis that she did and just placed it on the table nearby, sarcastically asking if she was beaten.
Later on, he joins Super Duper on their patrol down the street and then watches as they attempt to rescue a kitten from a tree, which ends with Bobby unintentionally peeing on Black Hole and Auntie Sis while on his back after the kitten landed on his belly. After the situation ends, Malchemical insults the team by calling them "abortions that live" before walking off.
He then converses with Auntie Sis while getting a drink of beer, explaining how he got there by raping Team Titanic's leader's girlfriend by deception. Auntie Sis then tries to convince him to stop acting like a jerk towards Super Duper by explaining that they aren't like that and that they aren't like regular super-people at all, with no need to be exposed to that kind of thing. Malchemical then asks what kind Auntie Sis is telling him before telling him that they are as far from being like Herogasm as it's possible to be, but she thinks it's a good thing since they actually want to use the powers they have to make the world a better place and be superheroes, and that they do what they can, though it's not easy for them since their outlook is sheltered. Malchemical then sarcastically asks if she was telling him that they are r****ded, with Auntie Sis responding that she used the word "sheltered," not that word. She then explains that what she's trying to tell him is that they are happy the way they are, that they don't ask to be dark, especially not for him as their team leader, and that they are not asking Vought-American for anything except to be allowed to continue as they always have. Malechemical then asks her who pays the bills before sipping some more beer, followed up by Auntie Sis telling him that she is taking the team out for ice cream and that she'd prefer that he doesn't come, followed up by Malchemical saying, "This must be your lucky day."
After discovering that he's been reported to Vought for his behavior during his stay with Super Duper, he deduces that it was Auntie Sis and confronts her for this, first being interrupted by him storming in on a conversation she was having with Ladyfold, with her telling him to knock next time before she leaves the room temporarily to talk with him. Auntie Sis admits that she did tell Vought about his behavior and tells him off by saying that if he thinks that he will enjoy his stay with the Super Dupers at their expense, he can think again. Malchemical tells her in response that Vought has assigned some pencil-pushers to write a report on him and that if they don't like anything in said report, it compromises his chances of getting back into Team Titanic sooner. In return, Auntie Sis warns him to be on his best behavior if he is to get a gold star from her and not to test her before leaving. Malchemical merely scoffs at this before thinking of a plan to get revenge on her.
Malchemical then appears again walking into the kitchen, noticing Hughie Campbell (who is under the guise of a different name there as Hamish) and asking who he is with one of the teammates, explaining that "Hamish" saved Black Hole's life and is their new friend, before explaining to Hughie that Malchemical is their team leader. Klanker then says "f***ing c**t" again with Malchemical mockingly laughing again before Hughie stands up to him, telling him to stop acting like an asshole while, unbeknownst to everyone there, placing a bug under the kitchen sink (as he was there to spy on them for a task given to him by Billy Butcher). Malchemical then briefly shocks Hughie by moving his face onto his chest and just leaving his tongue sticking out before threatening Hughie if he talks to him like that again before leaving with a bottle of beer in his hand and telling everyone, "See you later, everyone!"
Later on, while Super Duper is having a barbecue outside, Malchemical shapeshifts himself into Bobby and pretends to be him in order to talk to Auntie Sis, pretending to have had a horrible dream and that it scared him so much to the point of where he doesn't want to get into bed and he doesn't want to be scared. Auntie Sis then comforts him by telling him that it is only a bad dream and that even she can get scared too, telling him about her traumatic experience where one of the big underpants her Aunt Mandy was hanging outside on a liner flew off and landed on her, with her being afraid that she was going to be smothered to death, and it felt like she was there for hours. She explains that it traumatized her to the point where she had dreams about them and that they scare her more than anything else in the world. She then invites "Bobby" outside to eat, with him accepting it before Malchemical shapeshifts to Bobby with his colors and says that he'd like that.
Malchemical then lures Auntie Sis into a room later on with crying noises before shapeshifting into a floating giant pair of underpants and then covering her with himself when she enters the room, causing her to relive her trauma and scream while Malchemical taunts her by saying that Aunt Mandy's big pants have come to get her and revealing that he shapeshifted himself into Bobby to have that conversation with her. When Super Duper enters the room, Malchemical tells them that he's inside her eyes and in her mouth and threatens to be in her guts if they try anything. He then yells at the team, telling them that no one is to make any phone calls or talk to Vought at all and that his time there will be on his terms before threatening to "rain down shit" upon them that will make their nightmares seem like daydreams. In order to make the point, Malchemical attempts to rape Ladyfold and Stool Shadow by trying to force them to suck his dick. When Bobby asks what he means, Malchemical tells him that he will see before telling them again to get on their knees so that he can "give the fat f**k and education."
Ladyfold begins begging Malchemical to not make them do it while crying before Hughie, having heard the ordeal from within a car while spying on them, runs into the house, ordering Malchemical to get away from them all. Malchemical then shifts into his normal form before Hughie begins scolding him for trying to rape Ladyfold and Stool Shadow, with Malchemical telling him that that is the first place his mind went to. Malchemical begins mocking Hughie by sarcastically asking him if the important thing is that he's now here to save the day and then telling him that it's all just words until he actually makes a move. Hughie, in response, punches Malchemical in the face, though he ends up hurting his fist. Malchemical then shapeshifts his arm into a tentacle before stuffing it into Hughie's mouth and painfully ripping out his teeth, mockingly saying that it looks like a couple of molars to him.
Hughie attempts to lunge at Malchemical, only for the latter to shapeshift into a gas, causing Hughie to go through him and bump his head into a wall. Malchemical then transforms his arms into tentacles, before proceeding to try to painfully kill Hughie by painfully cutting him with said tentacles only for Billy Butcher, having caught wind of Hughie entering the house, to enter it. Malchemical then attempts to attack Billy too, only for him to use his lighter to light up fire and inflame Malchemical, causing him to die from the gas being lit up, burning him to death. Billy Butcher then grabs Hughie and leaves the house.
