“ | The time has come, my little meat gamejos. Rain down on my enemies, and stop them from advancing. And bring me back a newspaper. | „ |
~ Malifishmertz sending several of his Meatlings to stop the heroes. |
Malifishmertz is the main antagonist of the Phineas and Ferb episode "Excaliferb". He is the fantasy counterpart of Heinz Doofenshmirtz. He is an evil wizard who serves as the founder/leader of the Malifishmertz Evil Tradesman Association and seeks to take over the Tri-Kingdom Area. He is also the nemesis of Parable the Dragonpus, the dragon counterpart of Perry the Platypus.
Just like his original counterpart, he was voiced by Dan Povenmire.
History[]
Malifishmertz first appeared when he casts a rain spell on the Tri-Kingdom Area. He then traps an arriving Parable in a wicker cage with the help from his assistant Lawn Gnorme, announcing that he has formulated a plan to bring canned meat monsters to help him take over the Tri-Kingdom Area; the rain has only been cast in order for the meat monsters to grow strong. When a group of heroes (consisting of Phineas, Ferbalot, Isabel, Bufavulous, and Baljeeetolas) go on a quest to find the legendary sword called Excaliferb created to defeat Malifishmertz, the evil wizard has sent a network of spies (including the Shepherd Spy) to find out what the group is up to.
As the group head closer to the sword, Malifishmertz casts an avalanche spell on them. Parable would later free himself from his cage with his fire breath and engages into a fight with Malifishmertz, but the evil wizard's sorcery proved to be more than a match against the little dragon. Having defeated Parable, Malifishmertz is about to finish him off until he it interrupted by the arrival of the group, who have gotten hold of Excaliferb and have now summoned an army of monsters to help fight against Malifishmertz and his meat monsters.
Despite his forces being outnumbered, Malifishmertz shows no fear and instead orders his meat monsters to attack while transforming himself into a multi-headed monster to combat against the heroes. Phineas later casts a potion on Parable, transforming him into a large dragon to fight against Malifishmertz in combat. Though Ferbablot managed to defeat the Meatlings by transforming himself into a Medusa-like monster to turn them into stone, the battle's aftermath was left undisclosed, as every time whenever Parable seemingly got the upper hand, Malifishmertz always strikes back, making it more difficult for Parable to defeat him.
However, in the end of the episode, Carl states that a peace treaty was drafted between both sides since Malifishmertz and Parable too evenly matched that their duel was getting nowhere as the result, culminating to the evil sorcerer ended up being locked on a stock. During a bonfire party for the heroes, Malifishmertz manages to break himself free from the stock, and since everyone is busy cheering, he takes the opportunity to escape, planning to fight another day in a potential sequel to the story.
Personality[]
As with Doofenshmirtz, he is an evil and forgetful person who prone to rambling on and on about non-related subjects. That being said, apart from comedic moments such as forgetting to recharge his staff's magic until he attempted to blast Parable when the latter entered his castle, Malifishmertz proved to be more competent and dangerous as he able to utilize his arcane knowledge (which comparable to Doofenshmirtz's own scientific expertise) to its fullest.
Malifishmertz confesses to have many irrational fears towards unicorns, whales, squid, Pegasus, barnacles and scorpions, and a mild anxiety related to girls. However, when Candavere (the peasant girl counterpart of Candace Flynn) appears behind him as a mutant containing all his fears while confronting Phineas and Ferbalot during the final battle, Malifishmertz does not show any fear on this, as he finds Candavere's mutant form to be extremely ridiculous rather than scary.

Quotes[]
“ | Do you like him, Parable the Dragonpus? I call him a Lawn Gnorme. He protects my garden from witches' spells and wood trolls. I'm going to make small versions of him and sell them all over... Anyway, let me tell you about my plan for seizing control of the Tri-Kingdom Area. (walks down the tower) You see, I was bullfrog hunting down by the rat catcher's shack and came across a... (muffled sound from going around the back of the stairs) ...the biggest raspberry I've ever seen! It was the size of a cucumber! (muffled sound) ...is what I said because I had a gag over my mouth. (muffled sound continues until he reached the bottom) ...and that's why I decided to take over the Tri-Kingdom Area! True story. And now, I know exactly how to do it! You see, I found this ancient text, more of a-- a pamphlet really, and decided to use it to conjure up the most evil multitude to ever tread the Earth! But to do that, I needed to start with the most hideous substance known to man: Canned meat! Tripe-Henge Brand, only the best! (flashback of him pouring the meat into a bubbling cauldron before casting a spell over the mixture) So, earlier today, I placed thousands of cans of canned meat into the largest of my three cauldrons, cast my evil reanimation spell, and ta-da! (Gnorme dumps them out of the cauldron, and the small meatlings begin chattering "meat") Yeah, don't say it, I know, they're—they're a little small, but that's why the rain, see? They absorb water, and they will grow, and when they get bigger, I'm hoping their attitude will become a little more, you know, rampage-y. | „ |
~ Malifishmirtz introduces Lawn Gnorme and reveals his evil plan. |
“ | (laughs evilly) Finally, my greatest nemesis vanquished! Now, Parable the Dragonpus, prepare to meet your dim. Doom! I mean Doom. Prepare to meet your... Uh, man, talk about blowing the moment. | „ |
~ Malifishmertz ruins his own moment of finishing off Parable. |
“ | Malifishmirtz: Are you kidding me?! I'm not afraid of you kids or your monsters. In fact, I am not afraid of anything! Ha! Except, you know, unicorns, but other than that, nothing! Just unicorns and... and whales. That's... That's a given, everyone's afraid of whales. And squid. Uh, Unicorns, whales, and squid, and... and Pegasuses. That's it! Pegasuses, whales, unicorns, squid, scorpions, barnacles—You know, I should really make a list. And girls. I used to be terrified of girls but I sort of got over that. (Candavere in her chinera form appears behind him) Now it's just, you know, like, sort of a mild anxiety. So just to recap: girls, whales, squid-- (Notices that everyone is looking towards the sky) Hey, what's everyone looking at?(Sees Candavere) Candavere: Phineas and Ferb-a-Lot, you are so busted! Malifishmirtz: (momentarily speechless that the orb of his staff somehow flew while "deflating" like balloon) Oh, what do you know, it's a uni-whale-scorpio-Pega-squid-icorn-girl. What are the odds? You know, taken all together, it's more ridiculous than scary. I guess it doesn't have a cumulative effect. |

~ Malifishmirtz dismisses Phineas and co.'s monster army before revealing things he actually fears and admitting the absurdity of his said irrational phobias combined upon seeing Candavere who had mutated into one. |
Trivia[]
- Malifishmertz is currently the only counterpart of Doofenshmirtz that came close to killing his nemesis.
- Unlike most of Doofenshmirtz's counterparts, which they are either a possible ancestor and/or an alternate dimension counterpart, Malifishmertz is considered to be a fictional fictional character, as Carl was reading a book to an ill Monogram during much of the episode. Also, unlike many of Doofenshmirtz's counterparts, Malifishmertz proves himself to be competent, though this may be due to his skills in magic.
- Looking at the horns on Malifishmertz as well as his name and staff, it is possible that he is a parody of Maleficent.
- Malifishmertz' tactic of conjuring the rain all over Tri-Kingdom Area to empower his canned meat minions into stronger versions of themselves thus allowing them to properly conquer it and destroy anyone who opposes him on the other hand, can be compared to Sauron creating dark clouds over Mordor and beyond to shield his Orc army from sunlight.
- He is one of the three counterparts of Doofenshmirtz shown to be competent in doing evil (the others are The 1914 version of Doofenshmirtz and the 2nd Dimension Doofenshmirtz. Also, unlike many of Doofenshmirtz's counterparts (who are shown to be physically weak), Malifishmertz is shown to be physically strong, able to put up a nasty fight against Parable and making it more difficult for the latter to defeat him.
- Although at the end of the story, Carl mentions that Malefishmertz escaped to get revenge in a sequel to the story, it remains to be seen whether he will return in the series' revival.
