The Mall Goblin is a minor antagonist in the 2024 indie platform action game, ANTONBLAST.
He is a goblin who attempts to break into the vault of the Mad Mall in the titular level. However, he is challenged by Anton and Annie to race to open the vault first before they complete each gauntlet of the level in order to retrieve the spirit that is inside.
Appearance[]
The Mall Goblin has the design of a stereotypical goblin. He has pale green skin, pointed ears, nose, and fingers, and a yellow set of teeth and eyes. His outfit consists of a grey ski cap, sweatshirt, and shoes, and a black pair of pants.
After he is imprisoned, the Mall Goblin dons an orange prison jumpsuit and lacks his cap, revealing that he is bald with only a few strands of hair.
Biography[]
The Trash Goblin soley appears as the main antagonist of the level, The Mad Mall. He is seen struggling to open the titular mall's vault and as soon as Anton/Annie enter the same room he is in, the timer starts with the Mall Goblin beginning his heist as the game urges the player to select one of the four gauntlets and access the detonator there. Each time the player successfully activates a detonator, the Mall Goblin appears annoyed and resets the timer. If the player fails to complete a gauntlet before time runs out, the Mall Goblin instead laughs at them and then resets the timer.
Fail to activate more than half of the detonators and the Mall Goblin will have already opened the vault and claimed the spirit inside, before accidentally triggering the alarm where security apprehends him offscreen. He is then seen inside the mall's prison, slumped down behind bars as Anton/Annie reclaim the spirit from him and take the long route back from the mall. Succeed in activating all four detonators and the Mall Goblin disintegrates into a pile of ash. The player then can go back to the open vault and notice the Mall Goblin's dusty remains as they loot the poker chips and spirit inside the vault. It is presumed that the Mall Goblin was also likely imprisoned in this path offscreen.
Trivia[]
- The Mall Goblin seems to be unaffiliated with the game's main antagonist, Satan. However, his minions, the Trash Goblins appear in the final level, Hell Manor.
