~ Mama's Plan explained to the player. |
Mama Tattletail is the main antagonist of the 2016 Indie-horror game Tattletail.
She is voiced by Geneva Hodgson, who is also a character designer/co-developer of the game.
Appearance
Mama is like the Tattletail children, a furby-like toy with tall ears, a muzzle, and no arms. Unlike them, she has a small white turf of hair and brown fur. When jumpscaring the player, Mama has glowing red eyes and long thin sharp teeth.
Biography
October 22, 1998
Mama is one of the Tattletails that were announced in the Commercial that was on a Video Tape. While the tape was being viewed by the Player, Mama was right next to one of the Waygetter Toy Workers. She might be responsible for the death of the said worker.
2 Months Later
During the Second Night, Mama was right next to an unplugged refrigerator with a cassette inside. When the player puts the cassette in, Mama explains her true nature to the player. When the player goes upstairs to bring Tattletail to Mama, she mysteriously vanishes and teleports into the living room area, and the player has to avoid her. If Mama Hears Tattletail, she will jumpscare the player.
Throughout the rest of the nights, she becomes more and more active. when one of the Tattletails were playing Hide- and-Seek with the player, Mama comes out and the player has to avoid her every time.
Banishment and Defeat
On Christmas Eve, the Tattletail Children are planning a party for Mama but it actually turns out to be a ritual to banish Mama. The player has to help put the candles in front of each Tattletail and light them. During the first try at the ritual, Mama steals the candles so that she can stay forever. When the player gets all five candles and re-lights them, the ritual works and the VHS Tape begins to glow and Tattletail orders the player to rewind the tape and destroy it to banish Mama. When the ritual is over, the five remaining Tattletails are then wrapped up and the game tells the player to go to bed. Then we get one of two endings, depending if the player collects all of the twenty-two "Gift Eggs" or not.
Bad Ending
The Player wakes up on Christmas Day and opens the present with a familiar looking wrapping. The Present opens and it was revealed to be nothing but an empty Tattletail box and afterwards, Mama Jumpscares the Player, meaning that Mama survived the ritual.
Good Ending
Unlike Mama jumpscaring the player on Christmas day, Tattletail appears from the box, meaning that Mama was successfully banished.
