The Mammoth Mask is the main antagonist in episode 78 of 1977 TV series called Himitsu Sentai Gorenger. He's a mammoth-themed monster and the twenty-fourth of Black Cross Commander-in-Chief Golden Mask's Masked Monsters.
He is voiced by Eisuke Yoda.
History
The Mammoth Mask made his first appearance at the bottom of the Tokyo Towers where he (along with some Zolders) are using a jamming a device to block out all of the TV signals in Tokyo.
Back on the flying carrier of the Black Cross HQ the Mammoth Mask reports to his commander that he's very close to the base, but Black Cross Führer, so the Mammoth Mask wants to bomb the EAGLE training facility which is very obvious if he wants to find the secret entrance to the Gorenger's base and he plans to capture Daita to force him to take the Mammoth Mask to the secret base. So with that being said he sets off on the Battler to the training facility. During the bombing raid the Mammoth Mask used the Jamming Device to stop the signal on the Varidorin. This cause the rest of the Gorengers to fall back as well as killing Kurokawa, this made to take his guise and use the Kirenger's trust to gain access to the base. Placing himself into a cell near Daita, he used him to break him out of the base and back into civilization and then alarmed him that there was some information he needed from the Gorenger base in order to make Daita take him there.
Back at the Black Cross HQ the Mammoth Mask has told his boss that the 2nd phase of this plan has begun, so within a day or two per say Daita will show him (as well as the rest of the Black Cross Army) the secret entrance to the Gorenger's base. Once he knows the location his commander asked him to have the ninja corps to use the jamming device next to Varidoreen and Varitank to put both of them out of commission. Once that's done then the Black Cross Army will commence their full on attack. Which the Mammoth Mask has happily confirmed that their doing the 2nd phase right now as we speak. His boss ask him if the Gorengers has figured out his identity which he happily confirms that they didn't know his true identity.
Awhile later at a restaurant Kurokawa falsely claims that he was strapped in a futuristic chair as the Mammoth Mask does some announcements onto his megaphone as in K16W, so he asked Daita for a computer which he happily obliges since he'll take him to the base to compare some notes.
However after discovering the death of Kurokawa and realizing that Daita was being tricked, Tsuyoshi decided to intervene by leading the Mammoth Mask and the Zolder Ninja Team to a fake Gorenger base which they tried to invade without realizing that they had been lured to the wrong location. Cornered, the Gorenger attack them with Kirenger giving the most of his anger to defeat Mammoth Mask with the help of the other Gorenger in combat. The team ultimately use the Gorenger Hurricane to become a snow-making machine to cool down Mammoth Mask, who ultimately sneezes himself to an explosion as he falls off a cliff to his death.
