Nagai Asuka, also known as the Manager, is a minor antagonist in the 2020 psychological manga series Juujika no Rokunin, serving as the titular main antagonist of the Nagai arc. He is Azuma Chizuru's friendly employer at a fast food restaurant who, unbeknownst to his employee, is actually an obsessed rapist who enjoys violating his female employees at night after injecting them with a drug. He attempts to do the same to Chizuru, only to fail by the timely arrival of Shun Uruma, who manages to knock him unconscious before killing him after taking the unconscious rapist somewhere else.

Biography

When Azuma meets her manager, he seems to be very forgiving and easy-going in spite of his status as the employer of his restaurant. Despite his flirtatious comments towards her, he apologizes for his comments as he didn't mean to make her feel uncomfortable.

However, all these traits would disguise his true colors: According to Manami, his other employee, he is a monster who not only knocks one of his female employees unconscious at night but at the same time, he would inject a certain drug into them with a syringe once they have fully regained consciousness and after they are chained to an object. Afterwards, he would have his way with them up to the point when they could no longer take it anymore. This happened specifically to Manami half a year before Azuma started working at the restaurant as the victim describes how he would keep photos of the employees that he has assaulted, even telling her how everyone would have wanted more of the drug that he had given them.

After Chizuru's meeting with the owner of the Kitami Clinic (which is actually a cover for their criminal business), Kougo, the girl walks home by herself one day, only to be attacked by her manager who was following her the whole time. As the man attempts to strip Azuma of her clothing and inject her with the same drug he gave to his other employees, a wire is suddenly wrapped around his neck as he is being strangled with it by a masked killer (revealed to be Uruma in disguise) before losing consciousness. Afterwards, he is taken to the Kitami Clinic for judgement.

Upon awakening, he is found bound to a chair and greeted by Kougo and Uruma, who explains his current predicament and is about to be killed for his crimes. Given three minutes to give his last words, Nagai attempts to plead for his life and even agrees to turn himself into the police should he be let go and hypocritically questions why he must go through something like this. Being reminded of his descending time limit, he continues to plea only for Kougo to rebut that he just can't leave bad people out there in the world, explaining that he wants to get rid of them and find a cure as it is his duty as a doctor. With one minute left, Kougo gives Nagai a chance to save his own life by guessing who it was that made the request for him to be killed. He begins listing all the names of his past victims; (Ami, Rena, Fuyu, Sayuri, and Hana) despite all his answers being wrong and only manage to guess the correct one, Manami just a second too late, as he is swiftly killed by Uruma by having his throat slit open.

Trivia

• Nagai is the fourth person to be tortured by Uruma; interestingly he is the first villain to be tortured in not only the second part of the manga, but at the same time, the first villain to be tortured since Kuga Daichi of Part 1.
