Mandarin Spawn is a major villain in the Spawn comics.
History[]
Chenglei was born deformed and during the southern sung dynaisty was sold by his mother claiming to be a demon.T He could not speak, and was covered in large bulbous growths from head to toe. Chenglei also appeared to be immune to pain - and it was this ability that provided amusement for the governor. Chenglei was chained in the governor's palace to be tortured and humiliated until such time that the governor might grow weary of him. later he was killed by accident but before he died Mammon makes deal with him in order to become a hellspawn which he agreed. Chenglei returned to life killing all those who tortured him except for the kind hearted storyteller with his vengeance succeed he and his new army returned to hell with him finding a concubine. Years later into the present thanks to spawn's time bomb summoned Mandarin from hell and he would later make an army of his own trying to take over the world. He would soon come into contact with the scorched and later fights the Freak but the scorched manages to escape. Mandarin was not worried though as he knows who they are now and later encounters Margaret Love and Necro Cop.
Mandarin tries to fight them but necro's blast stops him and later decides to join them in order to bring the apocalypse by releasing Urizen first but Urizen is angered by being late.
Powers and Abilities[]
Being a hellspawn, Mandarin possesses superhuman strength, speed, stamin and durability. He can also regenerate, use magic and is a weapon master.
