Mandy Lane is the titular main protagonist of the 2006 horror film All the Boys Love Mandy Lane.
She is a teenage girl who suddenly becomes popular and is invited to a party, but is secretly manipulating her boyfriend into killing the others. She too, is revealed to be a sociopathic narcissist who is responsible for the deaths and horror surrounding the film’s events.
She was played by Amber Heard, who also portrayed 406 in Zombieland, Blanca Vasquez in Machete Kills and Nadine Cross in the 2020 adaptation of The Stand.
History[]
Little is known about her early life, but her parents died when she was young and she's implied to have been an outcast until she suddenly blossoms over the summer and becomes popular. She's invited to a pool party and accepts as long as her friend Emmet can come.
At the party, Emmet talks another boy into a dare where he jumps into the pool, breaking his neck. A year later, Mandy has become accepted by the popular boys and largely ignores Emmet. She's invited to a party at a boy's cattle ranch and accepts, but she is secretly plotting with Emmet to kill the others. On the way there, Mandy is warned that the other boys may try to "get with her" due to her good looks.
That night, several of the kids try to flirt with Mandy but she rejects their advances. Emmet later ambushes and kills several of the kids in various ways, while Mandy feigns ignorance and acts concerned for her friends. She seems to become close with another girl, Chloe, who she comforts when she's scared. She also spends some time with Garth, the ranch's owner, the only one who doesn't seem to have a crush on her. Garth is later shot by Emmet and Mandy tends to him, as she needs him alive to get her to safety.
Chloe survives Emmet's attack and runs to Mandy, who embraces her and tells her it will be okay, but she then stabs Chloe to death, revealing she was in on the plot. It's revealed she and Emmet had agreed to commit suicide together after killing the others, but Mandy now refuses to do it, telling Emmet he was just like all the others, and after a bloody fight she kills him. She then escapes with Garth's help, as he still thinks she was an innocent victim.
