| “ | Foxy was involved in a failed take-apart-put-back-together attraction, and was never quite the same again. Kids can be so heartless. | „ |
| ~ Michael Afton to Lisa about Mangle. |
The Mangle, formerly known as Funtime Foxy, is a major antagonist in the 2025 supernatural horror film Five Nights at Freddy's 2, the second installment of Five Nights at Freddy's film series based on the video game franchise of the same name.
They were one of the first iterations of the Foxy the Pirate Fox animatronics meant to serve as a take-apart-put-back-together attraction, who was eventually reduced to a contorted and mangled mess of robotic parts by the restaurant-goers.
They were portrayed through puppetry by Russ Walko. who also portrayed Prototype Foxy and original Foxy in the same film series.
Biography[]
While the exact date of when Henry Emily and William Afton created Funtime Foxy is unknown but could be in the late 1970s or the early 1980s. He was built as a presumed second version of Foxy the Pirate for the original Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza and was part of an experimental take-apart-and-put-back-together attraction, where kids could take him apart and reassemble him.
The experiment was proven to be failure when sometime after the original location was opened, kids ended up making Funtime Foxy a mess of robotic parts when playing with him, and he would come to be dubbed as “the Mangle”. Following the restaurant’s closure in response to the death of Charlotte Emily, Mangle was left behind and was unable to leave the Pizzeria due to a perimeter lock being installed to his and the Toy Animatronics’ programming, leaving them trapped inside for decades.
Personality[]
Out of the Toy Animatronics, Mangle is most aggressive out of them all so far, as they tend to act like a feral beast and are completely mute, as they are never heard speaking and being incapable of any speech.
According to Michael Afton, the Mangle was never the same during their time as an attraction, which implies that aside from being controlled by the Marionette, the reason behind their monstrous behavior is due to the trauma of having kids taking them apart while they never put them back together.
Appearance[]
Like their game counterpart, Mangle have a resembling appearance of a clown with rosy cheeks as well as lipstick haphazardly dotted on their elongated snout, giving them a more child-friendly appearance. Their teeth are also smaller, but their endoskeleton's teeth are also visible. A pink bow tie is also attached to their bent chassis, and their eyes also appear to be more realistic in design than the others. They also have a second head that seems entirely endoskeleton in design, which bears their left eye on it. If looked at closely, it can be seen that Mangle has pink paw pads on their 'hand' and 'foot'.
Mangle is clearly in a disfigured and contorted state, it seems, almost to the point of mechanical mutilation. Mangle also does not seem to have a suit at all, they are almost entirely an endoskeleton, except for their head, both of their hands, and one of their feet, which remain attached to their endoskeleton. Their head is white and has pink accents on their inner ear, snout, and around their eyes. their right eye is still attached to their costumed head, unlike their left eye, which is still attached to their endoskeleton head.
Mangle has their original endoskeleton head and costume head; the endoskeleton's head can be seen attached to the side. Mangle appears to be almost entirely made out of endoskeleton limbs. Wires hang from multiple parts of the body.

Trivia[]
- According to Emma Tammi, during production on the second film, the Mangle was moved by thirteen puppeteers during shooting.
- Despite being referred to as Toy/Funtime Foxy, however, he was never called by those names on the posters or the original location’s internal system.
- While he was called Foxy the Pirate, however, he is never shown to have any pirate traits, such as an eyepatch nor a hook like his prototype and modern counterparts. Curiously enough, their videogame counterpart was implied to have worn a hook pre-mangling in both an early teaser for Five Nights at Freddy's 2 and FNaF World.
- Like Balloon Boy, the Mangle has the least amount of screen time out of them all the Toy Animatronics.
