Manhole lids are round so that the lid does not in the hole de gozansu. This is the real goodbye!
~ Manhole Banki's last words

The Manhole Banki is a manhole-themed Savage Water Barbaric Machine Beast and a minor antagonist in Engine Sentai Go-Onger, appearing as the main antagonist in Episode 28.

He was voiced by Kentarō Itō, who also voiced Mogudrago, Toome, the Invisible World and the Great Invisible World.

Biography[]

The Manhole Banki made his first appearance as he was sneakily passed by the heroes and captured an unsuspecting lady. As he was about to leave, the team spotted him in the alleyway, and they asked him if he was the one behind the kidnapping. The Manhole Banki tried to deny it, but the proof was there as the lady has left her purse when the Manhole Banki kidnapped her. Exposed, the heroes open fire at the robot, but he used his manhole cover as a shield to block the attack before leaping from building to building to flee.

He is next seen at the Gaiark Palace, as Kitaneidas explains about this device that will decimate the entire city. After this, Kegalesia sent him out again, but this time to kidnap civilians that can easily spin a ball pen. He manages to capture a civilian, but unknowingly, it was Gunpei in disguise as he dropped Gunpherd down the hole.

Later, the Manhole Banki appeared in the warehouse right after Gunpei has rescued the trapped civilians as the Manhole Bot battles him. During the fight, he fired red lighting from his eyes at Gunpei, injuring him the first time but missing him the second time. This latter miss caused Gunpei to get the chance to destroy the device, leaving the warehouse as the Manhole Banki chased after him. However, the rest of the team showed up and shot him down, continuing their duel as the Manhole Banki sends a bunch of flying manhole covers at the team followed by spraying them with sewer water. Despite this, they withstood the attack as they brought him down for the count by both the Super Highway Buster and the Wing Boosters.

Despite this original victory, thanks to some Bikkurium that is within him, he manages to enlarge himself, prompting the team to bring out Engine-O G9 and battle him. It start things off as the Manhole Banki fired even more manhole covers at the mecha, but they shot them all down and later destroyed him with the G9 Grand Prix technique.
