The Maniac is the main antagonist of the puzzle-horror game METEL and a minor antagonist in SchoolBoy Runaway.
Appearance[]
The Maniac is a balding, seemingly Caucasian middle-aged man with grey-ish blue eyes, who dons a gas mask, a bluish-gray button down long-sleeved shirt, a pair of navy blue slacks and black shoes with some parts of his attire seeming to be covered in blood.
Biography[]
Metel - Horror Escape: Chapter 1[]
In the year 2013 (Presumably, judging by the calendar in Chapter 1), the Maniac follows a man named Alan, who was walking home from work during a snowstorm, Alan, feeling uncomfortable by the presence of the Maniac, sped up. But as he did, the Maniac started chasing after him, so Alan started running as fast as he could before he fell in the snow. When he quickly stood up, the Maniac pulled him by the shoulder and knocked him out with a strong punch. Afterward, the Maniac brings Alan to his lair and locks him in a cage.
Subsequently, Alan locks the door leading to his room with a wooden plank, the Maniac then urges Alan to open the door. But to no avail, the Maniac starts kicking the door, trying to get it opened. While this is happening, Alan escapes his hostage through an elevator he found in a secret passage way. After the maniac opens the door, he finds the room to be empty, he questions where Alan is before cursing him.
Metel - Horror Escape: Chapter 2[]
After Emily attends a party her friends threw, she takes her stuff and leaves at about 1:00 A.M.. Then, she gets into a taxi, she couldn't see through the windows due to a blizzard. An hour or so passes, the car finally stopped and the Maniac (Posing as the taxi driver) tells her that they've reached their destination. Emily noticed that they were in the woods, but before she could utter a word, the Maniac hits her in the head, causing her to pass out. The Maniac would then bring her to the basement at his lair.
Later on, while the Maniac was inspecting the basement, he hears a noise upstairs. As it turns out, an unnamed victim of his was escaping through the same elevator that Alan used, and coincidentally, the elevator led to a sewage system where there was a trapdoor leading to the basement. The Maniac then realizes that Emily unknowingly helped the victim. After Emily asks for help, the unnamed victim opens the trapdoor and they both escape together.
Metel - Horror Escape: Chapter 3[]
Due to circumstances, Eugene had to leave the city and moved to the countryside for an indefinite period of time. It was dark and raining heavily outside when all of the sudden, a power cut occurred in the village. Then, he heard loud banging on his front door. It startled him at first, but then remembered that his wife was arriving that day, so he opened the door. When he did, the Maniac (Who was wearing a hood at the time) was standing on the threshold. Before Eugene could ask who he was, the Maniac grabbed Eugene by the clothes and started beating him until he lost consciousness. The Maniac would then bring Eugene to the old barn located at his lair.
Later on, while the Maniac was inspecting the old barn, he realizes that Eugene is missing. Upon discovering this, he rushes to the attic, claiming that Eugene has decided to play hide-and-seek. While he was up there, Eugene left his hiding place and locked the Maniac in the attic. After getting through the Maniacs' dog, he escapes.
