Manipulens is the main antagonist of Kung Fu Sock. A long time ago, he pretended to want to learn Kung Fu so he did training with Master Kicko. But Master Kicko then found out that Manipulens didn't really want to learn Kung Fu, he just wanted power. So he sent Master Kicko to the future, where he was turned into a sock, but Manipulens accidentally fell into the portal as well. He also got turned into an object - a pair of sunglasses.
He was voiced by Zhankun Zhang in Chinese and Travis Roig in English.
Biography[]
He was once Master Kicko's friend, he lived in Baskerville 10,000 years ago with his parents, As a child, he claimed to his father he wants to be stronger and he stopped someone from destroying his homeworld and then he meets a magician who can help him and gave him the Manipulate power book and done Star Training and then he used it to gain his new powers and as a grown-up, he knocked down a basket and used his powers he gained from a magician to slice an apple and eat halves of it, throwing an empty apple to a fruit owner, and almost destroyed the fruit owner, but Master Kicko then appears and throws him onto the ground,
A long time ago, Master Kicko helped him practice Kung Fu so he did Kung Fu training with Master Kicko and Kicko says his mission is to guard the scroll unless it falls into the wrong hands, and Manipulens told Master Kicko he learned a lot of Kung Fu since last week. Then the scene cuts to a battle against Manipulens, Manipulens turns evil during the fight and Master Kicko fights him in battle, After he got up he took the scroll off Master Kicko and used the scroll to send Master Kicko to Starry Island as a sock, and the same he arrives, Manipulens arrives as a pair of sunglasses and a man has worn him and was taken off his eyes and during a fight with a sandcastle monster possessed by the Kwei, the left half of the blue glass on him breaks and attempts to eat him, but a seagull rescued him and took him to the Deserted Cable Car Station where seagulls live, and the seagull then fixes him with magneta glass and puts him on to possess him and when seagulls attack Manipulens, he transforms into a monster and then he transforms back, and says he's the boss so the seagulls listen to his commands so he can rule the world himself, and then he saw Tee Zeng as normal and Kung Fu Girl, and he saw the scroll and the seagull throws Manipulens to a beach shop owner who he can possess and then possessed him.
Manipulens also possessed a beach shop owner and transforms into a monster and takes the scroll off Tee Zeng and Manipulens throws himself onto the seagull and takes the scroll to use the Kwei's power, which turns him back into a human, Tee Zeng as Kung Fu Girl defeats him, and Manipulens possessed a PE Teacher and transforms into a monster, and Hiro Hao as Sword Master defeats him by knocking the glasses off with a sword, and rescues the PE Teacher, while Tee Zeng rescues Princess, and Manipulens also possessed a boy on stage as a dragon which he was defeated by Kung Fu Girl knocking the glasses off and Manipulens also possessed a workman and used his mouth to eat the Kwei which turns Manipulens back into his human form which he was defeated by kicking him in the back, and then his seagull puts him back on and then he wrote plans for the fight between two heroes and then his seagull throws him to Tee Zeng's auntie and possessed her and transformed into a monster and almost defeated Kung Fu Girl and Sword Hero in which he was defeated by both heroes.
Manipulens also possessed Hiro Hao in "Hao's Disappearance" at the end of the episode and in "Hao's Memory", It shows a flashback how Hiro Hao got possessed by Manipulens and in some episodes while in Hao's body he eats all the Kwei to become stronger and in "Wake Up, Hao", Kung Fu Sock told Tee Zeng to knock Manipulens out of Hao's body using Steaming Shadow Kick but she refuses and says she never wants to hurt him and until Hiro Hao got freed from his control in "Hao's Return" and Manipulens in his human form then walked away until the episode "Final Battle" He and Master Kicko fight and grow to giant size to battle and then Master Kicko reverts to his normal size after he is hit and eats all the Kwei from his body thus making him turn back into a pair of glasses, and after that Master Kicko turned into stone and creates a massive tornado, and after Tee Zeng hugs Master Kicko in "The Most Powerful Kung Fu", Master Kicko then turns back into a sock and Tee Zeng hugs him and transforms into the newly upgraded Kung Fu Girl and after the Kwei are all sealed, The scroll creates a portal and Kung Fu Sock throws Manipulens into the portal and when he is walking home, he turns back into a human, and Kung Fu Sock told Tee Zeng he must return home since his mission is over, But Tee Zeng refuses to let Kung Fu Sock go home, and then she finally lets him into the portal, and when he is walking home, he turns back into a human as Master Kicko, and Kicko and his friend Manipulens returned to their temple in the post-credits scene. It is likely Manipulens turned good when he is entering to the portal to his homeworld.
Trivia[]
- It is unknown how he unknowingly arrived to Starry Island, It is presumably when he sends someone else to the future as objects, Master Kicko's master presumably kicked or punched Manipulens into the portal and sent him into the future where he is turned into a pair of glasses, so he can possess a seagull and other people.
- In some later episodes in the English dub of Kung Fu Sock, his name is credited as "Manipulence" rather than "Manipulens", This is considered as an error in the series.
