~ Keicho Nijimura about his father's immortality. |
Mansaku Nijimura, better known as Father Nijimura, is an overarching antagonist of JoJo's Bizare Adventure: Stardust Crusaders and a supporting character in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable. Mansaku is the father of Okuyasu and Keicho Nijimura, and was once a member of DIO's army of underlings.
In the anime, he was voiced by Naomi Kusumi (who also voiced Jack the Ripper) in Japanese and Kellen Goff (who also voiced Diavolo, Kai Chisaki, Fiddlesticks, Funtime Freddy, Zagred, Lahmu, and Hans) in English. In the movie adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, he was portrayed by Kenji Mizuhashi.
Appearance[]
As a human, Mansaku was a Japanese businessman with short dark hair and masculine features. After his transformation, Mansaku became a deformed green rotund creature whose skin is full of boils and blisters. His eyes are mismatched and droopy, his nose is squished and bashed in, and his mouth has plucked lips resembling a beak. He also has small patches of hair on his head.
His outfit consists of a soda bag that he uses as a shirt and a pair of shorts with a belt. On his first appearance he's shown to have a leash with a chain around his neck.
Biography[]
He made a contract with DIO in which he would receive financial help, but with the condition of having one of his vampiric flesh buds implanted onto him. In 1987, he was sent to spy on the Joestars and discovered that Holy is slowly dying due to a stand manifesting in her. In response to this, Dio sends Gray Fly to eliminate the Joestar Group who began a journey to Egypt to defeat him.
After the death of the vampire, Mansaku's flesh bud bursts and his cells merge with DIO's seed, causing him to mutate into a mindless ogre-looking creature with regeneration powers that made him nearly unkillable. In order to end his father's suffering, his older son Keicho starts shooting various of Morioh's townsfolk with his father's stand arrows so he can find a stand user whose ability is powerful enough to kill him for good.
Trivia[]
- Mr. Nijimura's name on the live-action movie, "Mansaku" follows the Nijimura family trend of containing the kanji for Myriad japanese numerals in sets of four on their names, with man (万) being the kanji for 104 (10,000), whilst his sons, Keicho and Okuyasu both have respectively the kanjis for chō (兆) (1012 or 1,000,000,000,000) and Oku (億) (108 or 100,000,000).
- It's still unknown whether or not Josuke's stand, Crazy Diamond, could in fact heal Mansaku, as they all got interrupted by Red Hot Chili Pepper's attack on Keicho before he could do so. However, it most likely wouldn't work, seeing as not even Tonio's stand could restore him to his original state.
- Many fans speculate that Okuyasu's stand, The Hand, could in fact kill Mansaku. However, a popular fan explanation as to why he never did it is because Keicho could not bring himself to order his own brother to kill their dad.
