Mao Nonosaka (in Japanese: 野々坂 まお, Nonosaka Mao) is one of the main characters of the anime series Future Diary. In Episode 9, she is revealed to be the main antagonist, as she is about to kill the protagonist Yukiteru Amano, and threatened him with a knife. It is revealed that she and her friend Hinata Hino are the main masterminds of the recent murders. Later after Hinata and Mao lost the game. Mao Nonosaka wields her knife and tries to kill Yukiteru, but failed when Yuno Gasai, stab her quickly. Though in other episodes, she is seen fully alive and tried to help Yukiteru, Akise, and Yuno.
She was voiced by Yukana Nogami in Japanese and Ashleigh Domangue in English.

Mao's personality is kind of pretty much all over the place. While sometimes she is generally sweet and kind (especially to Hinata and Akise) she can also be very dangerous such as when she holds a knife to Yukki's throat to get ahold of his diary at Hinata's request at the beginning when they are first introduced. She can also be very aggressive mostly towards Kousaka such as when she punches him in the stomach for complaining too much.

When Yuno tries to fight Akise and loseswhile Hinata tries to convince Yukki that Yuno has been lying to him, she calls him and tells him that they are the ones lying and they only want his diary. This drives Yukki over the edge and he shoots Hinata dead. This angers Mao greatly and she tries to tell him off by calling him a coward and she attempts to throw a large rock at him but he then shoots her in the heart killing her instantly as she stumbles and falls of the cliff. Yukki then shoots Kousaka when he punches him for killing Hinata and Mao, and Yuno then beheads Akise in a fight finally killing the four of them.
Though in the last part, they are seen fully alive.
