Marbas is a a minor antagonist in Heroes of Might and Magic V. He was a demon cult leader of the demonic cult in the Silver Cities, demon lord of Sheogh and a minion of Kha-Beleth.
Biography[]
Marbas was a demon lord from Sheogh who ruled a demonic cult of mages from the Silver Cities with iron fist. However, the magicians did not really like their leader, who wanted to learn more and more how to defend himself against magic, so he began to study the arts of magic. The result was that Marbas became a demon lord who was resistant to magic, only the demon sovereign, Kha-Beleth, was much more resistant than him. On one occasion, Kha-Beleth tested one of his strongest servants, Agrael, and had to fight the demon lords of Sheogh. Among them was Marbas, who tested his resistance of magic, but Agrael was also an excellent strategist and defeated his opponent. Marbas then reappeared during Queen Isabel's war.
Marbas fought in the war in almost all its periods. He fought against Raelag again, in the wastelands of Sheogh, but was again defeated. He later returned and gathered strength in a demonic city that was under Horncrest. From this underground system, Isabel Greyhound and Ylaya tried to get to Horncrest with the rebels, but Marbas chased them. However, the two women were successful, they liberated the city, defeated the army of the Red Church and their leader, Lorenzo, and even successfully survived the attack of Marbas and the demon lord lost. However, the two demonic cities that were underground posed a threat to the rebels and the demon lord could return at any time, but the rebels defeated the demons in time. Marbas fought against Arantir later in the war, but lost, and eventually retreated to the last stand defence Talonguard. He was tasked that, with another demon lord, Nymus protecting a magical barrier that protected a demonic city and its leader, Grawl. However, one of the main leaders of the attack against the demons, Zehir, did not want enemy to his back, so he attacked the two demon lords. The wizard fought against Marbas and Nymus, both of whom were defeated. However, Marbas and Nymus did not die, but they were banished back to Sheogh's world.

Powers and Abillities[]
What is certain is that Marbas was much more resistant to magic than most demons. What made him really dangerous was that the demons near him became equally resistant, and the more the demon lord got stronger, the more resistant he and his troops became. At the height of his power, Marbas and his demons became almost completely immune to any magic that would harm them. In addition to this, he was also physically strong and talented the defense strategy.
