Marc Odenthal is the minor antagonist The Mentalist TV-show. He is an ADA, who wants to become a DA. He was played by Stephen Spinella.

Biography

Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon's team are sent to another crime scene. Kelly Flower, a court employee, has been murdered. Patrick turns to a strange repairman named Cale Sylvan. He asks for his business card, immediately receiving Cale's phone number and fingerprints. The first check shows that at least seven people whose houses Sylvan was repairing have mysteriously died. However, it is not possible to prove Sylvan's involvement in these deaths. Then Patrick checks Sylvan's house, and later arranges a provocation for him, but there is not enough evidence to put Sylvan in prison. In addition, Patrick's methods backfire on him (Patrick's fingerprints were found on Sylvan's mug). And later Sylvan is murdered. Kelly's colleague Mark Odenthal provides Teresa Lisbon's team with the cases that Kelly worked on. The last and most high-profile case was about a family of drug dealers named Hank and Annabelle Draber, the son and his mother, respectively. The Drabers kidnap Teresa Lisbon and Patrick Jane, who came to arrest them. However, Patrick and Teresa escape, and the Drabers are arrested. But they did not kill Kelly and Sylvan. Patrick arranges a provocation in court, and it turns out that Mark Odenthal has long dreamed of a promotion. For this, he wanted to solve a high-profile case. Therefore, he hired Sylvan to kill Kelly, and then killed Sylvan himself. He also decided to frame the Drabers. But Patrick proves his guilt and Odenthal is arrested.
