The Marchetti Pilot is a minor antagonist of the 2008 James Bond film Quantum of Solace. He is an unnamed Bolivian military pilot who serves for Dominic Greene.
He was portrayed by Antonio Gil.
History
Due to a deal between Greene and Luiz Medrano in overthrowing the Bolivian government, Colonel Carlos was tasked to murder the British agent named James Bond and the Bolivian agent named Camille Montes. Upon hearing that both Bond and Montes are piloting their plane towards to Atacama Desert, Carlos calls in the Marchetti pilot to pursue the duo and kill them at sight.
To that end, the Pilot personally commandeered his own plane (a weaponized Marchetti fighter-trainer), tracking down both Bond and Montes. The Pilot was then ordered by Carlos to fire his machine guns into their plane, destroying one of the engines and causing it to produce heavy smoke.
Despite the damage, Bond managed to improvise by using the smoke to block the Pilot's vision just as he and Montes escape on a parachute. As such, the Pilot crashes his plane into a rock formation, perishing to his death in a blast.
Following the deaths of Greene and Medrano, Bond learned that Quantum was nothing more than a front run by Ernst Stavro Blofeld of SPECTRE, and that the pilot, along with Greene and Medrano, were all pawns as part of Blofeld's true plot to wreak psychological pain on Bond.
