Marcus Becker was a Swiss criminal and loan shark in the WB TV series Smallville.
He appeared as the main antagonist in the Season 4 episode "Lucy".
He was portrayed by Peter Wingfield, who also played Alex in Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge.
Biography
Marcus Becker was one of Lex Luthor's old business adversaries who conspired with Lucy Lane to scam Lex out of fifty thousand dollars by pretending to be kidnapped.
Lucy was in Switzerland skiing down a mountain expertly eluding Marcus and another male companion. Lucy returned to the United States and arrived in Smallville and stayed with her sister at the Kent Farm.
Chloe Sullivan took Lucy to the Talon and met up with Lois and Clark Kent. Clark noticed Marcus enter the Talon and stare intently at Lucy.
Marcus was one of the men who were chasing her in Switzerland. Clark asked Lucy who he was, but when she turns to see, he's gone.
When Clark caught Lucy stealing money from the Talon, she feigned innocence confessing that she got in with the wrong crowd and owed a loan shark in Europe fifty thousand dollars.
Clark felt sympathetic and tells her that he wants to help her solve the problem. Clark asked Chloe for help and she learned the identity of the loan shark: Marcus Becker.
Clark explained the truth and Lex agreed to help Lucy with the money, but only because he knew Marcus from his past. Lucy set up the transaction and told Lex that only she can deliver the money to an abandoned warehouse but he objected and insisted on handing off the money.
On their way to the drop zone, Lex, Lois and Lucy were pulled over and when the police officer insists Lex get out of the car, he was revealed to be Marcus Becker. He pistol-whipped Lex after he hands over the cash.
Lois tried to defend him but he turns the gun on her. Becker forced Lucy and Lois into Lex's car, leaving Lex on the pavement. Clark super speeds to the warehouse to discover the exchange was staged.
He realized that Lucy was lying all along and locates Lex. At the same time, Lucy and Lois (and Lex's car) were in the back of an 18-wheeler being driven by Becker. Marcus pulled over and gave the girls some sandwiches to eat and told Lucy there were no tomatoes in hers because he knew she didn't like them.
At the Luthor Mansion, Clark and Lex try to decide what to do when Becker called demanding ransom. Clark super-hears the name of the road they were traveling on and went to apprehend Becker.
He waits on an overpass and super leaped onto the top of the truck. Getting inside the cab, he knocked Becker unconscious and pulls the truck over to safety. Becker was apprehended by the authorities and arrested, but Lucy escaped.
